Houston, Texas — On Friday, September 9, 2022, about 11:50 p.m., Houston Police Department patrol officers saw a black Ford pickup truck driving at a high rate of speed near Little York Road and the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45). The officers activated their emergency equipment and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection. When the officers approached the vehicle, the driver (43-year-old Manuel Elias-Torres) sped away and the officers initiated a vehicle pursuit. During the pursuit, which lasted approximately 15 minutes, the driver intentionally struck one of the patrol vehicles.

About 12:05 a.m., Elias-Torres stopped the truck in the 600 block of West Mount Houston Road. Three persons exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers pursued all three persons on foot. As Elias-Torres fled on foot, he pointed a handgun directly at an officer inside a marked patrol vehicle behind him. Officer Ready discharged his duty weapon at Elias-Torres, striking him multiple times. All three suspects were taken into custody without further incident and immediate medical care was provided to Elias-Torres. Paramedics transported Elias-Torres to an area hospital in stable condition. Officers recovered multiple guns Elias-Torres’ possession, as well as in the truck, along with ski masks.

  1. police protocol is a joke. he's running and you fir jow many rounds into his back at a low range?! Unreal!!! Pigs like this is why libtards want to defund the police. F off

  2. Can active on duty officers legally tell another on duty officer what to do like "who shot?" " go sit in your car"

  3. The cop who shot was certainly trying to save taxpayers a few dimes punching that perps ticket. Came up a little short of a firesale tho.

  4. Those last four shots were probably not necessary after he was on the ground. I'm amazed he lived. That was a lot of blood loss. I wonder if he's paralyzed now. If so, he won't be out doing anything criminal. Sounds like they were planning on already committed armed robbery.
I loved the take down of the dude in the light gray hoodie.

  5. See, 9mm is trash… if the cops had been using .40 like in the good ole days the perp would be toast. The AAR would read “A total of nineteen rounds were fire at the suspect of which, one round made contact neutralizing the threat. #.40isntdead
