San Diego Police Department Release Body Worn Camera Footage from Officer Involved Shooting that took place on January 24, 2020

The Incident began with two on-duty officers, The officers in the patrol car were identified in captions as Officers Downing and Johnson, who were in full police uniform, were attempting to contact a man near the intersection of 54th Street and College Grove Drive acting erratically while drinking from an open container. That man later identified as Toby Diller, 31, fled, a struggle ensued, the man take the gun of one officer and an officer involved shooting took place. At one point, Downing says, “He’s got my gun! Shoot him!” an officer than shot Diller in the head. He later died.

He have to get gun out and take the safety oof and point at you and shot and they already was on top of him so you shot him anyway why you didn't use your tasere the cameras didn't freeze you officer start to cry and talking that what happened if not where are the other cops footages or the audio

  26. The body's nervous system was still fighting for its life. Those were the last seconds of the brain sending signals for the body to move and twitch. That's just cold blooded killing someone like that

  27. He stopped fighting after the shot, then woke up like he was taking a short nap… I thought for sure he was out for good.

    Good shit by the backup officer for not hesitating and throwing lead when needed.

  28. That’s messed up. The poor guy just worked as a QA inspector for the holster manufacturer and was doing a on-the-field real life failure check to make sure the holsters are ready for 10-8. He was only doing his job, Jeez! 🤦‍♂️

  33. This is atrocious. Although the man grabbed the officers gun (still in the holster btw), the officer said “shoot him” and the officer chose to shoot him effectively point blank in the head! What about the shoulder that he was holding the gun with!
    They had ample opportunity to disable this man without resulting to a head shot which could have resulted in his death!
