The Raleigh Police Department was aware of the video circulating on social media involving a traffic stop during the January 14 arrest of Body Cam released from Viral Raleigh Police Arrest (DOB 5/5/97).

Raleigh Police said in a statement “The officers involved were equipped with body worn cameras and their patrol vehicles captured dash camera video of the arrest. In the spirit of transparency, the Raleigh Police Department will petition Superior Court for release of the videos.”
So today they released multiple body cam, dash cam and 911 calls of the incident that I have put together for you. Note that the 911 calls are after the footage this time.

On January 14, 2020 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a report of a hit and run in the 3500 block of Wake Forest Road. Before officers arrived on the scene the suspect vehicle fled the area and was involved in a second hit and run in a parking lot at St. Albans Drive and Wake Forest Road. While fleeing the scene of the second collision the vehicle struck a pole at 4320 Wingate Drive.

A short time later, an officer spotted a vehicle matching the description from the three earlier hit and run incidents driving erratically on Navaho Drive. The officer initiated a traffic stop and observed that the driver appeared to be impaired while transporting three passengers. When Mr. Batista-Concepcion ignored repeated commands to place his hands on the wheel, the officer ordered him to get out of the vehicle. Mr. Batista-Concepcion failed to follow the officer’s commands and officers used force to remove him from the vehicle.

Braily Andres Batista-Concepcion was subsequently charged with DWI, three counts of Hit and Run, two counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Resist, Delay and Obstruct. As is the case with all uses of force, the Raleigh Police Department is reviewing this matter. If anyone has additional information about this incident or witnessed any other hit and runs involving this vehicle, they are encouraged to call 911.”

  1. Always the same. This people are never responsible for anything they do wrong. But they demand accountability from the officers reacting to their misbehaviour.

  11. Some high schools should show this stuff to miss so they know from an early age that it doesn’t work out well when they resist the Police. He was obviously intoxicated.

  14. Resisting an officer’s commands is not going to end nicely. 3 hit and runs….Those officers had every right to use the force they did. The officer was kind to him afterward, which showed his respect for the guy. Where’s the respect for our law enforcement officers? They are people too, with families who love them dearly….The majority of our officers are great people. We need to start respecting our officers, and the job they do which puts their lives on the line every shift they work.
