NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today released police body-worn camera footage from the New York State Police (NYSP) that her office obtained as part of its ongoing investigation into the death of James Huber. Mr. Huber died on February 12, 2022, following an encounter with a member of NYSP in Buffalo.
Trooper Anthony Nigro, a 14-year veteran, is now under investigation after he chased down James Huber, 38, shortly after 11am on February 12.
Police say troopers attempted to stop an erratic driver on the thruway beginning near Brant and the driver continued to drive erratically and exited on I-190 northbound. The suspect then exited into the city of Buffalo and the pursuit was terminated.
Huber’s vehicle was spotted later on city streets by State Police. He was talking with people on the street when Trooper Anthony Nigro approached Huber’s vehicle.
Trooper Anthony Nigro repeatedly screams at Huber to get out. Nigro tries to forcibly pull Huber out of his car by his jacket.
Huber begin backs up his vehicle and Trooper Anthony Nigro fires two shots into the car. Off-camera, the car is heard backing up and loudly crashing onto something.
Seconds later, the car appears flipped over the side of a ramp that seems to lead underground.
The suspect James Huber, 38 died at the scene and Trooper Anthony Nigro has minor injuries.

Looking at the rear of the officers slide after he gets back up the gun didn’t cycle fully and is not in battery. Thankfully he didn’t need any follow up shots.
Why does it seem like recently they have been showing clips in cop cars from a body cam's perspective, and not dash cam…? It doesn't make sense to watch a steering wheel

Suspect was not armed,why he shoot him?dont get it,14 year veteran of what?i keep saying it,cops need more training and psychology in college to get hired,6 months os not enough with ged or high school diploma.
The most surprising part of the video is the troopers level of composure as he called in the incident, its as if this was a common occurrence.
That shooting was unjustified, driver was in reverse.
Don't call the wrecker until rescue spends an 1 & 1/2 hours getting the guy out of the flipped car. No need to pay the waiting charges.
