The Phoenix Police Department has released a Critical incident Briefing video for the March 29, 2020 officer involved shooting that took the life of Commander Greg Carnicle.
The video includes information, audio, and visuals of the incident that happened at a home near 40th Drive and Pinnacle Peak Road.
The initial 911 call was made shortly after 1pm when a woman told dispatchers “we currently have a roommate that we need to evict because he’s acting really weird and have made us extremely uncomfortable, and we wanted to do it today but he disclosed to us that he has a gun, and I don’t know if this is going to be a safe.”
The woman called 911 a second time a couple hours later, reporting the roommate refused to open the door to his room and she was afraid. “We don’t know if he’s on something or what but he’s not getting out of the house,” she told dispatchers.
Approximately 5 minutes later, officers from the Cactus Park Precinct arrived, making contact with 22-year-old Jacob McIlveen.
Officers went into the home and up the stairs, identifying themselves as Phoenix Police officer and knocking on Jacob’s bedroom door. 20 minutes later, he opened the door to talk with officers.

They were told he spoke of a firearm thats why they went in the first place. They already had difficulty with him so the blocked door was the alarm that next will be blood.
Those roommate,s knew what drugs he was on 100% cuz they do them to and should have told the officer,s what he was on!!!

I haven’t watched the video yet but I already know that if that call had been about a black man or woman this would have gone down very differently. Someone say that’s not true. They should have approached this with that kind of energy 👀 considering the way unarmed black people are treated in America I cannot be very sympathetic. I do feel for their families 😔

That closing of the door like that around the 3 minute mark would have made me laugh straight up…and that would have probably put me at ease and most likely I would have assumed this would be some silly incident with a teen I would laugh about later not knowing how serious things could get. But it doesn't get much deadlier than a domestic call I know that for sure but damn…I respect the good police officers in this world. It's an insanely demanding and dangerous job and unfortunately for many avoidable and some unavoidable reasons a necessary thing.
