Los Angeles, California — On January 27, 2021 around 10:30 p.m., LAPD Southwest Patrol Division officers responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon” in the area of 40th Place and Vermont Avenue. The comments of the radio call stated the suspect, later identified as 55-year-old Randy Miller, was armed with a knife and was assaulting his girlfriend. When officers arrived, they saw Miller in a parked vehicle repeatedly striking a female in a stabbing-type motion; at that time there was an officer-involved shooting. Miller was struck by gunfire.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and determined Miller had died at the scene. A knife was recovered from inside the vehicle and booked as evidence. The female victim sustained abrasions to her face. No officers were injured during the incident. LAPD’s specialized Force Investigation Division responded to the scene and interviewed witnesses and supervised the collection of evidence by the Forensic Science Division. A representative from the Office of the Inspector General responded and monitored the scene investigation.

  1. That's some scary stuff, I hope the two victims are okay and the perpetrator burns in hell for what he did to them

  2. caller: I'm hurt, I've been punched and my tooth knocked out
    dispatch: are…. are you hurt?

    c'mon bruh

  3. I realize that dispatch has high volume phone calls & needs as much detail as possible, but sometimes they prolong help by asking unnecessary questions with an attitude. SEND HELP TO THAT OLD MAN IN A WHEELCHAIR ALREADY!

  4. Old Man: Yea there's a guy stabbing his girlfriend, the address is….
Dispatch: Hold on let me connect you to fire

  5. Jesus…listening to these 911 calls and seeing the amount of time it takes to convey information and the time it takes for police to respond is exactly why law abiding citizens should always be armed.

  6. The guy saying they should pull the guy off her is a real cop. The other one first ignoring him, then trying to pull him back and talk about shield is the coward one, pumped full of training, thinking that taking even 0.0001% chance is too much and often combined with a lack of proficiency to read situations and choose the right way to react. De-escalate when possible but don't hesitate when it's really life or death.

  7. Why does it seem like every LAPD clip reminds me of: a) What NOT to do, b) either the officers on scene are severely under skilled or no experience, or c) the liberal California government has got these officers so scared to DO their job it always appears as disorganization & chaos. Maybe I hail from another era and this is how it is now. Politics, media and far left lawyers have ruined the safety of numerous people in numerous cities. To all law enforcement officers, there are still a vast number of us that stand beside and behind you.

  8. The police officers got me SO PISSED OFF. HE'S STABING HER AND THEY STAND STILL AFTER SHOOTING HIM, LIKE GOOOOOO GET HIM OFF OF HER YOU F*CKING IDIOT'S

  9. Pardon me for criticising, but……. wouldn't it have been better to pull him out of the car before they started shooting?
I think they got their training from "Police Academy"……

  10. This old boy who phoned 911 was totally confused by the barrage of questions, the operator needed to speak more slowly…… poor old boy!
