Albuquerque Police Department APD Real Time Crime Center 911 Emergency Call

The Albuquerque Police Department APD Real Time Crime Center is a crime fighting tool that sounds like it’s out of the movies. It gives instant information to cops entering potentially deadly situations.

If someone makes a call to 911 for an emergency and the name of a person is given by the caller, police officers in this center can start searching records through dozens of databases on that name. Then they alert officers of any mental health issues, restraining orders or criminal history they might have.

The new system will also send any information needed for the cop to do their job right to their smart phone.

APD is the first police department in the country to use this technology for these purposes. http://cabq.gov/police

  1. 3 minutes 38 seconds my ass! More like 3 hours 38 minutes. And don't bother using a cell phone. I called apd once when i was being chased down the street by a crack head shooting at me. The fuckin dispatcher told me i had to call from a LAN line for her to help. When i got to safety at a friends house and called it took them almost 6 hours to arrive and they acted like i was wasting there time because i wasn't still being shoot at. FUCK APD!

  2. police show up after the crime has been committed,  in APDs case they show up to the call and create the crime scene with their firearms

  3. Our law enforcement officers risk their lives each and every day to protect and serve each and every one of us. They do this without knowing most of the people they are helping. They deserve more respect than what many give and I imagine if you are in need of help, you will be glad to see them coming!! The Real-Time Crime Center enables these brave officers to respond with more information which helps in the protection of their lives and ours.

  4. Police are law enforcers, not citizen protectors. The Supreme Court has stated that there is no duty to protect the public. "To protect and serve" is public relations.
