11. Wow, You guys Onus News don't know what you are talking about, you should read and understand before you shoot your mouth off before you know what you are talking about. In the countries I know of there drunk driving law is basically the same and designed the same way.

    Step 1 you REQUEST they take screening Test if they refuse you automatically goto step2

    Step 2 you REQUIRE them to take and evidential breath/blood test or both if they refuse which they are perfectly allowed to do. got to step 3

    Step 3 The result is you are arrested and or summoned to Court, and the Court treats this as positive test, and you are convicted.
     
    If you guys think you are so right, I absolutely dare you to turn up to one of these check points stone cold sober and refuse all the tests and watch yourself go to court and be prosecuted and convicted. The law is designed that way you can refuse the whole lot
    if you want at the end the law still considers you a drunk driver seems fair to me its designed so you just can't refuse and get out of it. I personally don't like drunk drivers.
     
    I'm sorry but the cop is laughing at your stupidity, and rightfully so. I just hope no one takes your advice and get unnecessarily convicted for drunk driving, that would be just so bad. I just don't know how you could look at yourself in the mirror if that happened.

I came across this video because I wanted to check on laws from different countries as I just got pulled over by cops checkpoint in NSW, Australia yesterday forced to give a breath test and after they didn't find anything wrong they forced me and other drivers they stopped to an Environment Protection Authority temp defect station for car inspection

32. In California, you can refuse to take any field sobriety tests. You can also refuse to take a breathalyzer (as part of the field sobriety test) ** UP UNTIL the point that you are arrested for DUI. Once you have been arrested, you MUST provide them a breathalyzer or blood teat.

37. In Connecticut, you can refuse the Field Sobriety Test without penalty, but if you refuse a blood/breath/alcohol test, your license can be suspended for 6 months.

    I don't drink and drive so I don't mind complying. But at the same time, I don't like being detained by armed strangers when I haven't done anything wrong.
