  1. This is so disturbing, those police/detective need to do their work more properly and carefully. I've watched this too many times and hear of innocent people in prison for crimes they never did.

  2. She started lying when she was in the hospital bed, giving the wrong name so why did they think she was telling the truth. She will never get blamed for all the wrong she did all those yrs affecting Rodney in his probation, because she was a victim herself at 7 yrs old.
But now she has to stop trying to get all the attention…

  3. Thing is, if you watched a documentary on the guy who he DID kill years ago, were painted the picture of HIS upbringing and innocence and the fact that this guy killed him, all the comments would be "burn in hell" "hope he never gets out" etc. Instead you're all rooting for him. Remember that this guy DID kill someone and there are parents that have spent their whole life grieving for the loss of a child because of THIS mans hands.
So, I see this as redirected justice. He got 10 years for the brutal cold murder of a man, which wasn't enough, this has made up for it, I feel.
Had he not have been a murderer I would have felt awful for him, but he is a murderer, so I'm not going to join a fan club of his. Justice was served for the family of the victim that he killed. RIP.

  4. She had said in the first interviews that it was a scrawny guy that did it! I don’t know I do believe that Rodney didn’t do it you can just feel it and it’s a shame he’s spent that much time in prison and without evidence against him! This system is so fucked up and I hope that he gets out it’s been too long and it’s a shame this girl hadn’t came forward many years ago like if you think about it all the time and it bothers you then be freaking sure about who did it and then she also lied when she was seven about “Bill” being the guys name! Damn it’s heartbreaking this man being in prison for this long and not enough evidence to even had put him there in the very first place!!!!!!

  5. Did this fat liar just blame others for not confronting her false memories? Hey fucktard YOU were the ONLY witness…..you did this…no other evidence was submitted and no one but YOU caused this.

  6. Melissa just strikes me as an attention seeking woman went from Rodney Lincoln to this man working on her mom's car but him also being a complete stranger your story changes too much to trust natural account of the events

  7. She deserves prison, also answer me this – why does the sketch look JUST like Rodney Lincoln and nothing like Tommy?. Clearly her testimony is invalid and she can't be trusted

  8. To those who think she should be thrown in jail for falsely accusing Rodney as the murder, perhaps you should simply consider the following;

    1. She was a seven year old child when the murder occurred

    2. While she was in the hospital, she was being pushed constantly by nurses and investigators asking who it was. She admitted she had no idea who the man was, and even said his name was Bill– no where near to the name of the man that was behind bars for 30+ years.

    3. When you're 7 and your mother was just murdered, which you witnessed, hurt both you and your sibling, police and the press are constantly asking you to point your finger at someone while you're still in total shock of what had happened, not to mention that you were in pain, you would want all of this over with and just cooperate. You'd just do what they tell you to do.

    4. Young children aren't the best at recognizing faces or remembering things. They showed a young child a picture of a man she recognized from her mother's previous relationship and probably thought he could have been the only one who could have done it. It's the only man she knew that could probably hurt her mom.

    5. When in a situation such as this, you tend to black out. And for a lot of people, your brain picks out certain events in your life and erase them from your memory due to trauma. She probably only connected this man to the murderer because she knew it was a man in her presence.

    6. She was diagnosed with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) where every time you're brought back to a certain memory, your mind blanks, or you just completely crash down with emotions. I can't blame her for wanting to get someone in jail, someone she believed based on what the police made her believe, to get some peace and recover and possibly move on in life. I say I can't blame her, because if I were in that same exact position at the age of seven, I probably more than likely would have done the same thing. (I suffer from PTSD myself but for different, personal reasons. The acts of the investigators definitely would have left an impact.)

    7. She is now a grown woman. She has told her story. But, at the same time, people are now believing a totally different man was responsible for the murder. After enduring that as a child, and being forced by police to believe that a specific man committed the murder, do you think she's just going to go ahead and say, "oh, you're right. I'm going to go see this man who I was made to believe killed my mother and say he's not guilty just because random people online say they don't believe it's him. Set him free."? She is mentally ill due to this whole thing, do you really think she would want to have to go through picking the person who killed her mom again?

    8. She was terrified to see the episode she herself appeared in, let alone learn there's another man that could have been the killer. But, after watching that episode she appeared in, she is now aware she is wrong. She confesses she was wrong on the exact same show. She was conditioned into believing one thing as a child, rather than seeing everything as a whole while being an adult.

    9. She is on his side now. She is hoping to make a connection with his family and set him free from jail. If she was just a "bitch", do you believe she'd be trying to free him? Wouldn't you think she'd just dismiss all other theories and keep him in jail for the rest of his life? She admitted she was wrong and is doing all she can to help this man.

    10. Your opinion on certain people or events, etc. can change as you grow. She believes he is innocent now that evidence has since been brought forward that shows he was not the murderer, saw the mugshot of the actual man and was able to finally let herself, the child she once was, believe what she truly thought. She knew it was a different man that who she first wrongly pointed her finger to. She's doing all she can so that the falsely accused murderer will not die in prison. So he can see his daughter again. So she can apologize. So they all can both move on in life.

*Bonus point, since it's only my opinion and I guess can't be exactly proven as a fact: The government is a piece of shit that doesn't take stuff as seriously as they should sometimes. Things like this happen so often, and we cannot help it. All of them could have been telling the complete truth, everything they truly believed, and the police will do whatever they believe is right- whether it truly is right or wrong. It's abuse of power on their behalf.

  9. She should spend only 10 years for wrongful accusing an innocent man, who did 30 years cuz she said he killed her mom bs poor guy , why would he even want out now ? Way too old and those 30 years will never come back !
