Off Duty Cop Tries to Manipulate Police Out of Arrest

@Copwatchtv obtained body camera footage of an incident that happened in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. An off duty Santa Ana Tribal police officer was in a bad situation. Police were dispatched and found the man driving around the neighborhood.

The officers recognized him as a former superior and the favoritism started to bled itself into the investigation. A Rio Rancho DWI officer stopped it and investigated the man for drunk driving.

  1. When you’re drunk, you make mistakes. No excuse but trying to talk your way out of a DUI/DWI is what we all do.
Former cop is going through the kind of things that spouse die over. I respect fellow LEO compassion.
Let him take his punishment and hope his life never happens to you.

  2. boo-freaking-hoo. the cop has personal problems and life issues to deal with just like the rest of us. he's drunk and he's behind the wheel. treat him just like any other drunk driver.

  3. He made the choice to drive a truck while drunk, he must pay for his choices he had made that night…Just because he is law enforcement he is not above the law. He should know better not to drink and drive. He should have thought about that. I don't feel sorry for him.

  4. Even without the drinking, a suicidal man should not be an officer! Stop the damn pity party already! You can't reason with a drunk. Belly aching doesn't do any good. He's got a sober up. Finish feeling sorry for himself. Pray & figure it out! He's not going to do those kids any good in the state that he's in. Everything happens for a reason. So many ppl that care, so many gifts from God right in front of him & he doesn't even see it! Wake up! Clear those 👀! ❤️✝️

  5. I never got a DWI in my life just out of curiosity anyone that got pulled for DWI were u treated this nice? Did they open a tailgate for u to sit down and treat u so nicely?? Basically my question is did they coddle you like this??? Then proceeds to say my 15yr old is a fucking @sshole!!! I don’t care how bad my kid was (luckily my kids are amazing) I would never talk about them like this… and were you able to put your hands on the officer by touching them? I’m not talking about the hugs I’m talking about just putting your hands on them blocking the body cam at times. I was just curious if anyone else that got pulled over for DWI was able to do all this stuff.

  6. Second hand embarrassment.
I truly hope his son does not see this.
What he said about his son. Horrible.
What a simp wimp half man.
    Take his man card. Please!

  7. He's crying for help. He did wrong & I'm not defending his drinking, but he needs immediate mental health intervention. First responders, especially law enforcement have a high rate of suicide…we are seeing it in this video. I've just heard of several officers taking their own lives because their department ignored signs like this. The departments need to be more supportive of their officers. They see some f'd up crap on the job💙🇺🇸❤️

  8. He really started pulling out the bingo card of drunks, he said he didn't break any laws, he also will walk home, they will ruin his career. If he was the officer he would have definitely arrested a citizen. He also tried to sneakily cover the officers body cam. Now I am going to finish this trainwreck

  9. I'm getting borderline vibes from him, you're 11x more likely to develop borderline if you have ADHD. He needs therapy, it's going to damage the kids if he doesn't, when he says "The kids make me stable" that's a bad sign. It's supposed to be other way around. This is also common with borderline, feelings of emptiness when alone. DBT works well for this.

  10. “I never broke a single law”, except for driving under the influence. No matter why the police contact you if they suspect a DUI they must test you and arrest you. Hopefully this will help this guy realize needs help. His issues do not give an excuse for endangering the lives of others.

  11. Before body cams, cops got away with DUis all the time. Unless there was somebody hurt. I've seen plenty of cop DUI videos and they make it obvious that in the old days cops rarely arrested fellow cops and now they commonly remind the drunk cop that their cameras are recording and "it's not like old times anymore".

  12. theres those magic words in the comments "PTSD"…"mental health"….. people think they are a get out of jail free code! plenty of people suffer with those and DONT break the law! I hate the way people use these words as an excuse for their crappy decisions that lead to laws being broken! …. also! grown men in uniform hugging and crying like drunk divorced 40 year old women!! GET A GRIP!!!

  13. At first i felt kinda sorry for him, still do, but im just shocked how a lieutenants career and respect towards him went down the hill in min. I feel for him n his life situation, but damn. Man, good luck. This is a good example how woman fuck men up

  14. He was looking for a job, God took care of step 1 and put him on a new path. Sometimes you got to hit rock bottom before you can be truly free. God cares.
