West Allis, Wisconsin — On April 15, 2025, using a Flock camera, West Allis Police found a 2013 Hyundai Elantra reported stolen out of Fitchburg near 84th and McMyron. The vehicle was eventually tracked, unoccupied and running at the Clark gas station at 8404 W. Greenfield Ave. As the officer approached, the driver, later identified as 29-year-old Charles Gregory, pulled out of the lot and fled north on South 84th Street. Gregory led officers on a 7-mile, high-speed chase that included dangerous wrong-way driving and a final PIT maneuver outside a Brookfield business.

After a foot chase, officers tased and captured him, finding drugs and a digital scale in his possession. But the arrest didn’t stick for long. After being taken to Aurora West Allis Medical Center for evaluation, Gregory, still cuffed and claiming ankle pain, requested a wheelchair and an ankle wrap. As an officer opened the squad car door to transport him, Gregory leapt from the wheelchair and ran again, vanishing into a nearby neighborhood. Nearly three hours later, officers discovered him hiding inside a parked car in a garage with a broken door, still in handcuffs. With seven criminal charges and a potential 72-year sentence looming, Gregory is set to return to court on June 6.

Gregory’s cash bond was set at $25,000 on April 21. He is scheduled to appear for a status conference on June 6. He’s now also facing charges in Dane County, where he’s accused of stealing the car used in the chase. Gregory is facing seven charges, including burglary, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer, felony bail jumping, driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent, resisting an officer and escape from custody. If convicted of all charges, Gregory faces up to 72 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines.

  2. The bond amount on these videos is astonishing. I see so many folks complain about it, but in my neck of the woods (big State, small population), we seem to over-apply bond. If someone did that here, they would be looking at the very least $100,000.

Edit: The officer designated to secure and transport the suspect needs some retraining. Particularly in fitness. How tf did a handcuffed suspect outrun you? Full kit/gear, or not, that shouldn't be that difficult.

  3. His family – He was just out jogging for his upcoming trial in the Olympics.

    Cops…- Um..he was wearing hiking boots….

    Famiily – He likes a challenge…RACISTS!!

Ya, i've heard worse from families of thugs.

  4. I don't know what's more pathetic, the crime or the people in this comment section with their racist opinion. Then for these same racist to act like they don't know the crimes of their forefathers. You don't have to right to speak on what black people do.

  5. He already jumped bail once in another county and was STILL granted bail after doing all of this?! it’s like Wisconsin wants him to keep committing crimes

  6. "…And the Guilty run even when no one chases…" I think IMHO that parents that don't instill a sense of cause and effect ( you do this, you get this ) in their children are doing them a huge disservice. IDK just my thoughts. This dude clearly never got the memo.
