  1. A woman driving home from work in a rural area and a "fake cop" pulls you over for some b*llshit reason and tells you to get out of the car. This must be a felony! Impersonation is a license to kidnap and violate poeple! It is a mental illness roaming amongst innocent citizens!

  2. Just impersonating an LEO should be a felony. But there is another component to this and that’s safety. One day he could pull this crap making a traffic stop that could get him serious hurt or killed. Many cops themselves have made stops where individual from that stop in progress either gets assault the or shot and killed. There are perimeters that must be followed on traffic stops. The location of the officer making the stop is key or if back is needed for aid or assistance. Fake cops do not have this protection. And if it all goes down wrong there is no one there on the back to help him out. Maybe a passerby could help by calling 911.

It also makes people think twice before pulling over and stopping when they see red and blue lights. Many women have been sexually assaulted by people who are fake cops. Fake cops get real cops killed.

  3. scary thing is, if actual LEO didnt stop that guy, people could fall prey to whatever the fake cop had in mind. for example, he couldve been trying to get peoples money by impersonating a cop and making them think they had to pay for a traffic violation.

  4. I'll never understand why someone would want to impersonate the police. The qualifications required are extremely low. Go get a GED if you want to become an officer. Maybe he wants the action but not the low pay? That being said, a citizen can absolutely detain someone to prevent (unaliving) or serious bodily (almost unaliving). That in no way was unlawful. I'm sure there is an Ohio law that only lets a police vehicle active blue flashing lights, but that doesn't arise to the level of impersonating an officer. He also never identified himself as an officer or federal agent. A decent lawyer will get him off, probably even without having to do any community service.
