  1. People giving the cop all the credit when in reality gravity and reduced friction from the grass are the real heroes

  2. What's the big deal ? Ye really thing the cop stopped a pickup from driving away? Fuck off .it just slipped into the ditch when she floored it

  3. Probably a lot easier to do than it initially seems – especially if it's a front/rear-wheel truck that needs the four-wheel drive to actively be engaged in order to use all four. (The car is dug in, so that would effectively mean that only one wheel is moving it.) Still, really cool video. Something out of a movie.

  4. The cop had very little to do with stopping that truck. The reason is that truck has an open differential. If you know how differentials work you'd see it right away. The tire on the grass was slipping. So barely any of the engine's power was going to the tire on the pavement and almost all the power was going to the tire in the slippery grass. This naturally pulled the rear end of the truck around and into the grass making it even more stuck. The cop may have helped a tiny little bit, but it is impossible for a person to hold back a vehicle.
If that truck were in 4wd it would have been out of there. If it had a locking diff it would have been out of there even in 2wd. If it had a limited slip differential, it probably would have sent enough power to the gripping tire to drive off as well.
