Walking Stick or Gun? Cops Get it Very WRONG

#cops #police

That don’t look like any gun I’ve seen. Columbia County in Florida will have some answering to do after locking up a legally blind man on the way home from jury duty for open carrying….a walking stick to aid him navigating the streets in the dark.

  1. I live near Columbia County and they are vary well known for doing stuff like this. It's a shame I went to the academy there and so did most of Ccso deputies and we were all tought way better than this. We had amazing instructors and I'm sure this video will be played several times on what not to do.

  2. That lady cop….and her handler….need to be taught a lesson of the true power dynamics in this country…. Hint: It's the group who has more pews than they do people. If the people chose to stop "complying" it's gonna be a SHITTY day to be a LEO.

  3. Both of them should be fired, sued, and imprisoned for kidnapping…bad cops making good cops look bad 😞

  4. ”Apologies. My mistake. From a distance it looked like your walking stick might’ve been a firearm. Just checking. Have a nice day..”

Would that have been so hard?!
The lack of humility & pathological need to be in charge from some cops is staggering.

  5. My hunch is that the cops hunch that this dude did not have the means to retain legal representation and pursue this fully played heavily in their decision making process.

  6. Back the blue? More like hacks in blue. All the good police have quit or been fired. Stop treating the ones left like they respect your rights. The same people who arrested church goers are now telling you to listen to them. These are not police officers, theyre the strong arm of tyrants. Fuck'm, treat them accordingly

  7. To me the supervisor is 100% at fault here. He should have seen emotions were high on both sides. That he said "you know what, put him in jail for resisting". That right there. Far as I know, you can not resist arrest if you were arrested illegally. There has to be probable cause. As you pointed out Mike, he showed his walking stick. Regardless of his attitude, he did not have a firearm on him which was her original "stop". You can not and should not arrest someone for having a bad attitude.

The best way to win over this fellow citizen would have been the supervisor stopping the situation before handcuffs. Apologizing for high emotions. Make a personal connection that have families to go home too and are concerned in these days and times about safety. Wish him a good day and apologize again. It may open up the man to dialog or he might go home and feel bad about flying off the handle at first encounter. The next thing he should have done is buy his officer a coffee. Sit her down and talk with her. Let her verbalize the situation and her emotions. Lets face it, there was a lack of respect on both sides.

Ultimately command or management needs to have the cooler head. Be a teacher of best practices.

  8. Mike I've always thought you were an idiot. That's why I like you. HAHAHA.
Seems to me when she found out what was going on she could have said have a nice day, thank you for clearing that up.
But what do I know I'm an idiot too.
Stay safe. Take care. Have fun. 😎

  9. When she found out it was a walking stick, at that point you apologize and tell them to have a good day.

  10. I hope everyone can agree that the guy in this video is Walter from the Big lebowski, and this had nothing to do with Vietnam.
