Louisville, Kentucky — The Kentucky State Police released a video statement, along with the mobile video recording footage from the Louisville Metro Police Department’s officer involved shooting that occurred on March 9. LMPD officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the St. Matthews area with a license plate that was reportedly stolen, according to police, but the driver refused to stop. The chase ended behind the Walmart Supercenter at 2020 Bashford Manor Ln., near Bardstown Road. The video shows the suspect fleeing on foot behind the parking lot.

One of the cruiser’s dashcam catches several other vehicles attempting to stop the suspect. As the suspect continues running, the cruiser hits the suspect with his vehicle to attempt him to stop. The suspect is then seen in the footage firing a weapon before being hit himself. Officers then surround the suspect to make an arrest. Officers rendered first aid and the suspect was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The suspect is identified as 32-year-old Darrell Browning.

  1. Man that was vicious hit, but he turns around and fires a gun, well it safe to assume he will be in jail for the rest of his life.

  2. The cruiser was smoking or a shot hit the radiator and Darrell looked like he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory, you know, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, for those of you who are old enough to remember that movie.

  3. Hollywood movie trailer- They have super powers and are gonna save the world.
Me- No ty I'll stay home to watch Police Activity.

  4. He's going to be slammed from behind in prison worse than the cruiser did…trust me on this…

  5. this so much better then LAPD. LAPD would still be trying to circle the block, and we need someone screaming "i have the sheld"
