Montezuma County, Colorado — On April 8, 2026, at about 11 a.m., a Colorado State Trooper spotted a pickup truck traveling the wrong direction along the shoulder of U.S. Highway 160 near Cortez. Authorities say the trooper immediately disengaged from the initial stop and pursued the vehicle, which continued weaving unpredictably between the shoulder and opposing lanes at highway speeds. Despite emergency lights, sirens, and repeated attempts to gain compliance, the driver pressed on, at times narrowly avoiding head-on collisions with oncoming traffic and creating a rapidly deteriorating situation for other motorists. As the vehicle sped toward an active construction zone with reduced speed limits, the trooper made the decision to forcibly end the pursuit. After an initial unsuccessful attempt, a second tactical maneuver brought the truck to a stop just before it could enter the work area, where crews were present. The driver, identified as an 81-year-old man, was taken into custody without further incident and faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, reckless driving and vehicular eluding.

I like your jubilee. 😂
9:50 I wonder if at that point, the Trooper wasn't contemplating not to ask the 81 yo man to get on his knees, both because of possible Balance issues and stiffness/lack of flexibility that were going to force him to drop his arms so he can support himself, which is exactly what ended up happening…
The way the Trooper paused for a while at the timestamp, then asked in a much softer and unsure voice to keep the arms up, are pretty good indicators that he was evaluating if he should continue normally with the standard procedure (subject brought to kneel then lying flat on the ground by himself, following instructions) or just approach the old man at that point while he had his hands in the air and just cuff him like that because of how it wouldn't really accomplish anything in terms of Officer Safety when the Suspect would lower his hands to his knees, as well as the very real risks of injury from an elderly losing balance (their bones are very frail, and the PD is legally liable once someone is in their Custody, which I don't know at what point exactly here it would be considered, ie: only after being cuffed vs as soon as following instructions).
I believe that this is telling because that's the only time the Trooper hesitates, doesn't speak loudly, with confidence & authority, and slows down in-between steps in a otherwise very well executed and steadily paced Felony Stop, aka High-Risk Vehicle Stop.
And he should never drive again!🤬
Never understood why we have laws saying you are too young to drive, but none saying you are too old.

And that's just one more example of why I've always advocated for a mandatory yearly medical exam, including eye & vision, for elderly people/people past a certain age to keep their driver's license! Too many have deteriorating health, especially the loss of eyesight and diminished mental faculties/dementia (dementia is an umbrella term for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and a ton of other progressive neurological conditions), which, for the latter, makes them unable to even understand what they're doing, and a lot of elderly people are very stubborn about refusing to stop driving, often because it means acknowledging that they're old, or not as functional anymore… It confronts them to things that lots of people refuse to face and admit.
A yearly medical exam, including an eye & vision exam, is just the most logical thing to do to prevent all these accidents and protect the lives of both these elderly drivers and the public!
It's a sad and terrrible day for any elderly person when after driving their entire lives, they can no longer do so. Glad this had a happy ending.
On the bright side even 81 year old white dudes can follow commands and not be all "I din't do nuffin! Why you always pulling me over? I need to get home! Let me call my momma! Don't touch me! You ain't arrestin me! I DON'T need tuh get out thuh car! I don't need to get down on ground. I don't need to show you my ID"
DUI at 81? time to take that license away.
I’d have called an ambulance. I’ve run into people like that. Old guy took out two streets lights. Ripped the whole undercarriage out of his car. Calm as could be. No alcohol. Asked if he was a diabetic. He said yes. I walked to the convenience store across the street and got a snickers bar. He ate it. Looked at me and said “did I do all that?” Yep. “Did I hurt anyone?” Nope.
Diabetes will absolutely turn your brain into pudding when the blood sugar plummets.
11:43 this is how my great aunt lost her license. Full speed down the wrong side of the highway. Fortunately, she didn’t kill anyone or herself.
That FORD is living up to the acronyms..Fix Or Repair Daily, Fucked
On Race Day,
Fuckin Owner Really Dum

Driver Returns On Foot
😂😂😅😂
If this driver chose to move to, despite the officer telling him not to, and this guy chose to get up before the officer could handcuff him. What do you think that trooper would’ve done to this guy if the suspect chose to fight him.
Reminds me of "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles", "You're going the wrong way!"
DUI? He was just taking his Rheumatism Medicine.
Textbook PIT! Well done Trooper!
What a stupendous pit.
Dumb old bastard knew exactly what he was doing. That generation doesn't give a fuck about anyone.
Too old to drive a car. Just young enough to rule over the US 🙂
Still drives better than most 20 year olds.
pit at 4:25
Don't worry I'm sure he'll be back on the road in no time. You can't let a baby boomer not have their way, if he says "I'm driving" you better be saying "wanna take my car?"
The most necessary TVI i've ever seen.
Damn cop harassing a guy just trying to make his way down to the Country Kitchen Buffet. (disclaimer: This is obvious sarcasm but some of you are mentally deficient.)
very bad police officer. threatened 13 cars. the police car was shaking like an old tractor
I'm so sick and tired of these old people getting behind the wheel and killing innocent young people. Nothing infuriates me more. Someone who got to live a long life, had their time, then refused to give it up and stole the time from someone a fraction of their age with decades of love and happiness ahead of them. It's so unfair. Bury them under the road where they crash. It's a miracle this idiot didn't take anyone out with him before the cop pit him.
Our police are getting so dumb they have zero common sense and literally no humanity whatsoever, hiw could he seriously not tell it was just an old confused man, I cringed when he was giving his commands 🤬 walk up and arrest him you coward
The commentary when he starts getting handcuffed sent me 🤣🤣🤣
Textbook! Nice biceps too
This pisses me off to no end. F'ing POS could have killed someone. Imagine how s****Y drunk he had to be…
Is it Joe Biden? 🤔
This cop is too much
Great work textbook
An 81 year old driving a Hummer. Wow.
"I wasn't speedin'."
Uh… Okay?
its time for the boomers to give up their licenses
