Livingston County, Michigan — On June 12, 2025, while on southbound US-23, the Fenton City PD located a stolen car and initiated a pursuit. Livingston County Deputies started to assist near Clyde Road. The stolen car exited at Highland Road (M59) and continued west. As the car passed Argentine Road, Livingston County Deputies set up spike strips, but the driver avoided. Near this location the car side swiped a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway causing minor damage to both vehicles. The stolen vehicle then turned south onto Hughes Road where it failed to stop at the intersection at Golf Club Road and struck a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado. The impact caused the Chevrolet Silverado to overturn against the guard rail.

Both vehicles were disabled, and the driver of the stolen vehicle was taken into custody without further incident. The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was identified as a 66-year-old male Howell resident, who was transported to the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor by Livingston County EMS as a precautionary measure and reported no significant injuries. The driver of the stolen vehicle, 42-year-old Jeremy Nelson, of Ypsilanti, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Howell by Livingston County EMS for examination prior to being lodged at the Livingston County Jail. Nelson was arraigned on June 13th, 2025 on charges of fleeing and eluding police and receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle. He remains jailed on a $100,000 cash surety bond along with a Michigan Department of Corrections Parole Detainer.

  2. It really sucks that the stolen cars get trashed and the owner looses their car due to an idiot thief. In this case, thief caused two cars to be totaled. There should be a law that forces the thief to work and pay back the owners of the ruined cars, but no, we are too soft on crime and only give them a "don't be naughty" slap on the wrist. Our legal system is broken, much due to the left wing voters of our country.

  3. That’s one hell of a PIT!😂

Imagine crashing like that and coming to rest against a sign that says “Warning Gas Pipeline.”

  4. the only one whois really going to have to pay for this, is the victim. his insurance is going to go up, he's only going to get blue book for hiss truck minus his deductible, and his medical bills are going to cost an arm and a leg, even with insurance or medicare.

  5. He rammed that truck on purpose it seems. If you look at the break lights. He was slowing down right before the cross then sped up when the truck showed up so he wouldn't miss it. He also hit the breaks again right before impact.

  6. More Victims of the Melenated Plague of America !!! These Judges Need to be Held Accountable for Continuing to Let those POS out of Jail Every Time !!!

  7. For the pick up driver: Why why why why why when you hear a siren you cross the street in that way?!?!?!?
For the red car: what have in your brain?!?
Go out of the way, there's a pursuit ongoing!!!!!!!
    The people are dumb.

  8. "I’m curious—why do suspects almost always ignore police commands and try to run away? It only increases the severity of their charges, and they get caught anyway…"

  9. $100,000 bond? ! He can get out with $10,000. It also shows that the judge doesn't see this as a severe case. Hopefully the judge reconsiders and raises the bond.

  10. so thats not covered under insurance and the driver had no insurance so you just lost a hundred thousand dollars for a ford pickup truck and now you still have to make payment but have no truck…
basically ruined youre life have fun walking to work from now on
