Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost spoke to the Law&Crime Network’s Angenette Levy about the recent lawsuit he filed against Norfolk Southern Railway for the February train derailment that released over 1 million hazardous chemicals into the town of East Palestine. Levy also spoke to a resident of the town who described to health issues she’s experienced since the incident.

Pursuing the human executives and making them liable for the deaths they incurred on their watch is unconscionable.

Norfolk Southern should have gone in hard and heavy just after the derailment. Vinyl Chloride should have been transferred to trucks. They had to have known that burning Vinyl Chloride would have been a catastrophe to the people and environment far from Palestine Ohio. It's happened to other communities in the past. You can't put the toxic Genie back into the bottle. People will have to live with birth defects, cancer, and other problems.
