6. I`m a Norwegian and have been skiing since I could basically stand and I had no idea there were "traffic rules" for skiing! I guess America might be different from us though. Of course helping someone up when you crash into them or something is just common decency though^ ^

8. I hope the world doesn't believe her just because she's an actress. I mean I could see it the way he described. I could see an actress feeling superior and just up and walking away because they feel wronged and are angry , and a ski instructor for her yelling at him. I mean I hope people don't think she's not at fault just because she's a major actress. It's not like they are these special beings that people think they can do no wrong. But that's how people usually treat them. I don't know who's at fault, but I GARANTEE people would believe her over him…. just because of who she is…. and that's ridiculous….

22. What? A video that actually explains the core of what the case is about? What a relief. I was only casually interested. Thank goodness. I will say cases like this really bother me. All it takes is one selfish person trying to cash in, and the next thing we know all ski resorts shut down because the potential legal liability makes it not worth allowing skiing. At some point, people need to just say, “I am choosing to engage in an activity that I know is dangerous, so I am also choosing my right to sue for negligence.” Sure, if a skier deliberately targets someone because they are trying to put them in the hospital that’s a very different thing, but at some point we have to get over this idea that every time something bad happens to us it’s okay to try to hold someone else legally or financially liable. You choose the risk, you accept the consequences. If you want to get insurance that specifically is meant to cover things like the medical costs of your higher risk lifestyle, that sounds like a great idea, but you shouldn’t have to be relying on the ski resort’s insurance or collision insurance from other skiers.

23. Here’s how I see it: I’m in a vehicle, someone else is on foot. The person on foot is doing everything right, they’re at the crosswalk, they have the “walk” signal, etc. I on the other hand have a red light, I’m speeding, & talking on my cell, but the other person knows they have the right of way & by god, they plan on exercising that right. Just because one has the right doesn’t necessarily mean they should always take it.

    Sure, I might get a bunch of tickets, my insurance goes up, catch a lawsuit & other consequences, but who’s the real loser in the end gonna be? I might be poor the rest of my life, but money is just money, the other person is gonna be in a wheelchair for the rest of their life eating from a straw.

25. I think it's the dude's fault. He was skiing in very wide archs, from one side of the run to the other. Paltrow was ahead of him skiing in a more narrow down-hill pattern. He ran into her.
