1. I think that maybe the kids have to go to this trial as a school assignment. They need an adult chaperone so the parent is there. They both look bored to death. They are not taking notes, but maybe they only needed to observe.

5. After watching so many of these trials what I have learned is, the investigation is never done properly and you can poke holes in them just by asking if they did basic investigative protocol.

9. The defense got all of the previous detectives say the didn't collect evidence because Lugo didn't tell them too. Then they got lugo do say wasn't my fault they we're supposed to do that. Lol

10. Nothing defence has argued has given me anything but more clarity that their client is guilty!

11. I know that jurors are supposed to reach a verdict based on the evidence, but they're only human and I believe a nasty, mean attorney can have an effect on their judgement. Escobar is skating on thin ice with how badly he treats the witnesses. Especially when a witness is being respectful and saying "Yes sir, No sir" and he still yells at them and treats them like dog poo on the bottom of his shoe. The judge has even warned him several times, but he just ignores him.

12. It's pretty bad that defense is so disrespectful to the witness (lieutenant on stand) that the judge has to correct him multiple times.

13. In halloween pic, his hand on the woman's shoulder looks completely normal, no finger curling as defense is constantly implying.

15. So a " Gang banger" showed up in a police shirt, driving a van, and asked for ID's before shooting people. Mmkay. Exactly like a drive by. Smh

16. Defense tries to both sides everything. When he doesn't like cell data, it's that anyone could be using the phone "my kids use my phone" but when the data works for his client, it's a big aha moment!

17. Love how defense so dramatically objects to "leading" and "counsel testifying " when the 2 male defense guys are by far the worst offenders. With Mr Smith, Escobar would give a monolog and then just inflect his voice at the end or add a "right?". Ridiculous!

18. Escobar knew about the motion in limine regarding mentioning gang activity as he argued a while before that these motions should be revisited. He is constantly grazing against the fence to the point of quasi misconduct.

19. I do appreciate that this judge has way better control of his courtroom than the judge over the Anderson case. However, how many times do you just say, "don't do that again" and then have the defense attorney just continue to throw in snide remarks and unnecessary comments anyway? He just keeps on doing it because he keeps getting away with it. A contempt of court fine would shut that cr*p down.

25. You all need to relax with bashing the detective, if you have been the detective working this case I’m sure you wouldn’t be perfect, if your not a cop or detective try to stay in your lane no one is perfect, except for Mr. Rogers who is trying so hard to act innocent

26. Michael is trying to come off as Mr. Rogers with his sweaters and pretending like he wouldn’t hurt a fly, he though who would care if a couple of Mexicans got shot and killed

27. I love how a lot of people in the live chat are criticizing the police but if they were in their shoes they would have been perfect in their investigation 🤦‍♀️

28. @Katherine Se so he couldn’t afford bail, hired an attorneys the first go around then having a retrial he now can afford two high power lawyers (maybe one high powered lawyer) who I’m sure isn’t taking this case per bono so yea he could have made bail his parents own a lot of land with a house so why didn’t they put up the bail and by the way usually they set bail you only have to put up half so there’s that ………

29. This is the most loosely run trial I've seen. The jury controls the judge.

39. Escobar is just trying to tie every crime on Thanksgiving to what happened. He keeps mentioning shotgun and a shotgun was not used at the scene. They were not shot with shotguns

44. If I was on this jury and thought he was guilty, but wasn't quite sure, I would choose guilty just because of his lawyers' antics. It's like they want to be a big star and have that "You can't handle the truth" moment from A Few Good Men. Just do your job and quit trying to degrade the very qualified witnesses.

46. Also I understand that Johnny Depp ate candy at that insane trial but since when are convicted convicts given a trove of candy to enjoy while they are on trial FOR MURDER?!?! Obscene and disrespectful
