Without numerous witnesses or video evidence this case is just a waste of taxpayers money. In any event its clearly just an accident. And there is no evidence that it was intentional. Skiing is by its nature, a dangerous sport. And you accept that risk when step out onto the slope.

10. The doctor may be qualified to figure out how the impact would cause Sanderson’s injuries, but he’s not qualified to speculate on how the impact came about. If Sanderson hit Paltrow from behind with his skis trapped between hers, and their skis tangled with each other on the way down, it’s perfectly possible that they both flipped, and we already know she landed on top. If he had landed slightly on his side, the double simultaneous impact of hitting the ground and her landing on him could easily be enough to fracture his ribs, especially as it was to his side.

14. Yes, plausible that twisting could cause injuries to the one coming from behind, but would certainly cause skis and poles to be spread all over the place, and likely injuries to both involved. Given that no one described any skis coming off, it is more consistent with what the plaintiff describes.

17. The FAA crash investigation people have stricken the word accident from their vocabulary. No such thing as an accident, there are only events. EVERY EVENT on gods green earth has a cause. And that event can be the CAUSE of a succeeding event. Just because you didn't MEAN to do it doesn't mean it was accidental. You set up a situation that that increases the likelihood of an UNFORESEEN event, so you are accountable.

    If it was her fault 300,000 is way to low for a traumatic brain injury and broken ribs.

27. She's a good doctor. That's exactly what happens with an injury.
    My rotator cuff was torn at Menards. It didn't start hurting until I left the store and was driving home. I broke into a sweat and was in terrible pain.
    At the store, I wanted to not be hurt so badly I didn't tell anyone at the store.
    Never ever assume you're ok after an accident. Adrenaline kicks in and blocks pain.

    Stay there, get witnesses if you can. Fill out a report. Take pics, record yourself descriving the accident on your phone because you WILL 100% FORGET everything that happened even if its minor.

33. It's obvious she did is at fault but she continues to act as if the doctor somehow went up hill where she was and crashed into her with his back. She is ridiculous. My impression of her is that she is just another ordinary coldhearted creep who feels she is entitled to get away with wrongdoing. Her acting skill is meaningless compared to her lack of character.

38. The main thrust (pun intended) is, is Gwynneth at fault or was Mr Sanderson actually in the way? Downhill skiers have right of way. How come GW didn't see him as she came downhill? I look forward to hearing them both take the stand to find out.

    It is such a shame Gwynneth didn't just settle out of court. He isn't asking for millions which he could have. Gwynneth struck me as a gentle, kind and charming person, so am incredibly surprised she didn't just settle. Money isn't an issue for her obviously. He is not asking for millions.

    The retired and aging optometrist has had to deal with an enormous amount of loss and suffering due to the accident. Without a doubt the collision has compounded the health issues he already had, and the trial now is dragging both him and his family through the quagmire.

41. Both the Plaintiff and the Defense team of lawyers are unimpressive. Neither of them know how to clearly and concisely convince a Jury that their client's version of the events is more credible than the other. I find all of them boring and not charismatic.

    If I were the case manager, I would have hired an 'accident reconstructionist' and 'graphic artist' to recreate the occurrence based on eye-witness testimony and medical experts' theory of the collision. Then, showed the Jury the multiple video versions one at a time. And then, finally a compilation of the 'most likely scenario'. (A picture, in this case a video, is worth a thousand words.)

    Paltrow's Defense Attorney told an unbelievable version (his statement, btw, is NOT evidence) of Gwyneth skiing and then seeing someone else's skis coming from behind her. His skis were now in between her own skis. She thought someone had snuck up from behind her to sexually assault her. (Standing doggy-style.) wtf? Show her version to the Jurors and everyone else in the Court and let's see if they bust out laughing at this incredulous story.
