Ninteen-year-old Dylan Rounds went missing in May 2022 while working at his farm in Lucin, Utah. Almost a year later, the man accused of killing him was arrested after disturbing evidence was found on the young farmer’s phone, which was recovered from the bottom of a retention pond. Rounds’ parents, Justin Rounds and Candice Cooley, spoke to the Law&Crime Network about the investigation leading up to the arrest of James Brenner. Sidebar host Jesse Weber breaks down the Dylan Rounds story so far.

  1. Sheriffs office accused him of doing drugs cuz they knew resources wohld cost the county A LOT OF MONEY TO INVESTIGATE. AS WITH MANY SMALL TOWNS THEY HAVE OTHER THINGS THEY WANT TO USE THOSE TAX DOLLADS FOR. MORAL OR IMMORAL ?!

  2. If Brenner gets out on bail or allowed to come out of your Gaol , that won’t. Surprise me at all.(weakness on the laws part )

  3. brenner if i rememeber correctly was a sort of helping had to dylans grandpa that later on went onto giving dylan the property. wouldn't be surprised if it was about of envy. brener seem to kinda think he's the owner of his property but he was actually squatting on dylans land

  4. Absolutely disgusting that is taken this long to file charges against this guy especially since they had the DNA evidence! I am just so so sorry. I remember hearing you and about Dylan like the very week that he went missing and I would keep track periodically to see if anything had come to light. I was amazed when I was looking through the news and there it was a few days ago when he had been found. I almost feel like Dylan was part of my family again. I am just so so sorry but I’m so thankful that he has been found! Sincerely SP

  5. RIP Dylan Rounds 😢🙏🏽🙏🏽🌹🕊️✝️
Heartbreaking prayers to Dylan's family and friends 🙏🏽

  6. Who took the video of this grizzly man that shows blood on him and his shirt?
Mom looks so young , like a teenager.
    Condolences 🙏
    🙏 RIP 🙏 🌻🌻🌻🌻😢

  7. I'm so sick of squatters being allowed to show up and settle where ever they want and given protection from these states. He should have been removed right away.

  8. To accidentally swipe and start the IPhone recording video is real easy to do. I’d say it happens to me once or twice a week.

  9. Jealous narcissistic psycho neighbor meets remarkable focused decent young man whose very existence is a daily reminder of what a total loser he is. Dylan had to go. RIP and condolences to his parents.

  10. It's not ok that the sheriff's office said those things initially, but the way you are portraying them isn't right either. I'm born, raised and currently live in Box Elder County. For everyone here you should know Box Elder County is the second largest in the state, encompasses hundreds of thousands of acres of desert with numerous unincorporated town that the sheriff's deputies are called to have a presence in. That is to say our sheriff's department is vastly understaffed, with a mere 30 deputies to patrol such a desolate place as this, they really don't have the needed man power to drive a hundred miles into the desert to investigate a missing persons case. It's sad, it really is but that's just how it is. The search for Dylan was widespread, everyone was looking for him. The search made a big impact on my hometown which is the last incorporated city in this county as you drive west towards lucin. Even before you leave this valley there are already enough unincorporated towns for the deputies to patrol to require every single officer, that all of the surrounding valleys combined wouldn't match this valley in population or townships. All of this is just to give you some perspective, be a little kinder to our law enforcement officers, they've already got it bad enough as is.

  11. Dylan was so young, but he found his passion, his calling, and he knew exactly what made him happy, he knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life— and he was doing it! His death is tragic and unfair. May Dylan and his family rest now that his body has been found.

That bearded vagrant still needs to pay for what he’s done.

  12. I can’t believe dad was able to keep his hands off the guy while the police seemed like they gave Brenner every break know to man to stay out of Jail. Moms and Dad are the real hero’s. Doesn’t sound like there would be an investigation without them. The cop just can’t bring himself to say the police dept screwed the pooch. They never do.

  13. Squatting on a farm in the old days would be taken care of but not by the sheriff. Old farm hands stories are always very interesting. I remember one old guy telling me that in certain situations, hunting accidents were relatively common.
