Russell Laffitte, Alex Murdaugh’s accomplice involved in dozens of financial crimes, will not get a new trial. The convicted scam artist motioned for a new trial after Murdaugh testified during his double murder trial that Laffitte never conspired with him about those financial crimes. Folks, in my opinion, there are those higher in the criminal chain wayyyyyy beyond the little murdoughs.
Lafitte is a CEO by gosh. He is supposed to be aware of Ethics! He is supposed to be aware of financial criminal activity! He is supposed to be aware of banking policies! He is supposed to be aware of federal laws! He is supposed to be aware of banking procedures! He is accountable for his own criminal activities. Criminal!

There are only a few legal ways that money could be transferred from or level a banking account. What Russel and Alex stole and continued to steal over many years. They are both criminals and they equally took actions to steal and benefit from the stoking money. Just like Alex I wouldn’t be surprised if Russell did the same things to others. To hear how callously Russell treated the two girls he was the executor Ofer their money in infuriating. When they would requested money he would give them a hard time, give them less than what they asked for, or say no altogether. One of them had to take a car loan out since he didn’t allow her to have the funds she requested and she also had housing issues after a house fire that he also showed no care. I think laws in his states and states around the country should change their laws and policies to prevent this clear conflict of interest from happening again! No body at the bank should be the executor over a minor or anyone else’s money.
Eric Bland is truly a wonderful human being. God bless him for standing up against the Murdaughs, and I hope these attorneys working on the Stephen Smith case along with law enforcement continue to clean up the low country of South Carolina.
Murdaugh gives us a little glimpse of the type of lawyers in our politics. If he had not done his family he would have suffered Just some cushy little consequences and business would have gone on as usual. He was protected all around he was protected by his fellow attorneys he was protected by law enforcement he was protected by everybody
