Former Columbus police vice squad officer Andrew Mitchell was indicted on murder and voluntary manslaughter charges for the death of 23-year-old Donna Castleberry. Mitchell went to trial in the spring of 2022, but in April, a judge declared a mistrial because jurors couldn’t reach a unanimous verdict. On the night Castleberry was killed, Mitchell allegedly picked her up in an unmarked police car during an undercover prostitution sting. Mitchell claims Castleberry stabbed him, so he shot her out of self defense. However, during the first trial, prosecutors said that she was shot in the back of Mitchell’s car while attempting to escape.

The excessive force expert earned every dollar that day.
Their expert witness destroyeddddddddd her, this was amazingx. “When your cut, you bleedâ€
If you watch 10 minutes of the judge speaking about Donna Casselberry, he literally misspells and Miss says her name 15 times. How is that even possible?
How is it possible that we can have a judge kind of like a judge Judy handled this case how is that even possible when basically he likes to laugh and joke and help people I don’t believe this judge should’ve been the judge to handle this case because over 200 times he never said her name correctly and that is very disrespectful
Guilty. I believe it is 1st degree. She wanted to get out and he got made. He got out and then murdered her
I am so upset about this judge obviously he’s within the blue lion gang because he sat in the quart room multiple days. He knows the woman’s name Donna Casselberry how can he not know her name and I believe only two times throughout this entire proceeding he said her name correctly why would he literally say her name wrong in front of the family that is so disrespectful and hateful and it needs to be addressed more than anything there will be protests about this
The only other way that Donna could get out of this is to try to get out the door but he locked the doors. She went from the front because the front door was like she went to the bad because the back doors were locked. There’s no other way to get out of it she was yelling and screaming to get out of it. He actually got out of the car but he went back and killed her.
He’s pulling the trigger. Detective Andrews is pulling the trigger, so why would he have to hear the gun shot? He’s pulling the trigger six times to make sure that he murders this little girl. I hope the jury reads all of these text messages I really do.
This poor woman was yelling and screaming for somebody to help her. She was yelling and screaming to get off me. Get off me get off me he still shot and killed or why why did he shoot and kill this little girl? Why, obviously in my belief, he already assaulted her once before and then when she realized it, that’s why there was no interaction in the car. The minute she got in the car she realized it was the same scumbag that assaulted her before when he obviously with supposedly doing another thing, and she escaped, but when she realized it was him this time, and then he knew that this was the same woman that he attacked a while back and that is why he had to kill her
The perception of the involved officer got out of the car he could’ve walked away. She did not have a gun. All she had was a knife. It’s not like she’s Bruce Lee, where she can throw the knife at him and stick in between the eyes. No, he could’ve walked away and waited for the other police to show up and then handcuffed her and took her to jail for a $20 ticket instead, she’s going home in a body bag because he murdered her
He open the door and got out of the car. He could’ve walked away and she would still be alive to this day but instead, he turned around and shot and killed her. He didn’t shoot and killer he executed her.
He said that whatever he believes is within the law, but you don’t understand the police can lie. They are trained to lie. Literally, the police are trained to lie and tell multiple lies and obviously this man was lying and lying and lying for a fact, then we’ve got this nasty attorney that is defending the state and she always has to raise her voice and talk real fast so the jury can’t really understand her and it’s pretty disgusting if you ask me.
So he said he didn’t see the knife but then the cop sitting on the stand says well you know he might’ve sought he just doesn’t know why would this police officer say things that he has no idea about why would he have not of been there in two seconds why would there not have been police officers within a 30 second walk this is so wrong and if he says that she wanted to go to this spot well obviously if it was a sting then obviously they were cars very close by that were going to follow him if he was leaving obviously I think we can literally determine that. She went from the front to the back because she was trying to escape him. She knew she couldn’t get out the front door. She could get not past him because he was almost a 300 pound man and she was 110 pound girl she jumped to the backseat to try to get out. He pulled a gun again and tried to shoot her in the head or something and she caught him. That is what happened and I believe that, for a fact, let me see all of the evidence and I will come to that conclusion, and I hope the jury does also, he needs to go to jail for life. This man does never ever need to walk the streets ever again, especially for all of the other things that he’s done to women he is evil.
Cut. A little cut. But the he said she was going for pistol. She went to back to get out
I’m just so very upset about this. This police officer needs to go to jail for life. It truly breaks my heart if this was my daughter and this police officer, so-called good police officer because he’s definitely not a good police officer did this to my daughter I would find a way no matter what, and make sure that he spent the rest of his life in jail from all the wrong doings that he did and as we see here he got out of the car and he should’ve walked away but instead he got back in and killed her.
He gets out and could’ve walked away but instead he gets back in the car and shoot your dead. So why did the other car and the people in the other car come back that makes no sense totally makes no sense when you got out of the car you should’ve left and walked away but no he did not. He went back to the car and killed her. He murdered her.
Oh my god this police officer is totally wrong. I’ve listen to it and she is fearing for her life. Why does he not just let her out of the car because the doors are locked and she can’t get out that makes it he actually is trying to kill her
She’s trying to ask somebody else to help her then he walks back just walk away. All she had to do is walk away but he keeps telling her that he’s a police getting his car now getting his car now so if he’s a police and he tells her to get in the car why were the killer?
She don’t want to get in the car obviously he’s trying to make her get in the car big time he’s trying to do everything he can why did he not get out of the car if he’s a police officer and say look, ma’am I have other police officers here nearby, we can arrest you why would he let her into his car? That’s the number one fact right there there should have never ever been any kind of instance that he should have let her into his car obviously he thought there was no threat but he ended up killing her anyway he should’ve never ever let her in his car. He should’ve got out of the car showed her his ID and said you’re under arrest, but she cannot be arrested unless she gets in his car, so this is the reason why this police officer is doing this
What if this young girl was this judge’s daughter think about that for a second do you think he would miss pronounce her name? I truly don’t think so. This is so disrespectful in America’s court system that a judge cannot one time pronounce a young woman’s name that has been murdered by a police officer. I would sue if that was my daughter I would literally Sue this judge and everybody I could.
Why can’t this judge say her name ever not one time has he said this poor woman’s name correctly that is so disrespectful and if it was my daughter, I would press charges against that judge because he should know how to pronounce my daughters name if it was my daughter, how long is it been? This is truly disgusting all he seems to want to do is read this through and make sure that the blue line gang gets off Scott free.
What is extremely sad and really really strange that the judge could not one time say (Donna’s)name properly!!!!! This is so wrong. The judge never said this beautiful woman’s name correctly. And he read her name over 100 times. My guess would be 1000 or more. But I guess he has a blue line flag in his house. I always thought judges where blind. But as we see. I’m sad.
If they still have the car which I’m certain they do, they need to do another investigation and find out if there’s any his blood in the backseat dripping down if there isn’t or if there is and then when he came back through and open the door up again or if he didn’t, then there should be more blood dripping from the doorway into the back of the car to get the gun that he dropped. I believe that’s exactly what happened.
This is so wrong!!!!!!! Let’s hear his audio right before the murder!!!! Why not video and audio at the beginning. He knew exactly what he was doing!!! He knew that if he recorded from the beginning he would never get the blow job!!!! Why and this is a big question!! Why did he only start recording after all of the violence!!! This is a serious issue. If she was my daughter I would want to make sure this cop needs life in jail. Never get out. He could have let her out but he did not. If it was a sting then she could have got out and been arrested. Instead she yelled and screamed stating that she was being kidnapped assaulted beaten, she jumped into the backseat. The police officer obviously pulled a gun on her. She sliced his hand the gun fell. He probably pulled another gun and shot and killed her. Then he probably opened up the door, grab the gun and hit it. If we had a really really good detectives then we could’ve been able to find out if he opened up the door in the back if he reached into the car, but maybe one hand of blood drips from him and in the backseat while I was reaching for the gun that fell or anything like that, but obviously there’s not that many smart detectives out there.
Has Mr. Davis ever had his hand sliced by a woman that was being threatened an N and then killed? I don’t believe so, so how does it even know this is totally irrelevant and this needs to be objective no matter what
Why is the woman representing Andrew yelling and screaming? Is she doing that to make the jury think that she’s correct? Because she’s definitely not correct for a fact I mean obviously if anybody put two into together we can see and understand the facts are the facts are this man invited her into his car, and then he murdered her. Those are the facts there’s not much more you can actually go by.
We all know that the blue lion gang will stick together why would anybody allow any person in the police department to draw a blue line through an American flag this is a sign of a gang in a gang being the police department I believe this 100% and there are multiple millions of people that believe the same thing
They keep bringing up the time he was cut, so was it a cut? Was it a slash they’re saying it was 35 stitches then they were saying that it was a tiny cut. Then they said that he had to get a blood transfusion but then they said there was not a lot of blood on the scene, so what is the actual truth? Do we actually have evidence that shows how much blood was transfuse into his body? Do we have that evidence do we have evidence that she was fearing for her life and jumped from the front of the car to the backseat to get out of the car and instead she could not so he killed her.
So he’s choking her got his hands around her neck pushed her up against the radio in the front seat of the car. She’s obviously yelling and screaming tries to get out of the car realizes that the front doors locked. I believe she jumped to the backseat and try to get out, but he pulled a gun and that’s when she pulled a knife out and cut his hand. I believe that’s exactly what happened and I will stick with that story. It is so sad that she is not here to testify because he made sure of that he fired six times to make sure that that little skinny little girl was dead.
Why did he never examine the weapon instead? Just look at a picture that truly doesn’t make no sense. He should’ve looked at the weapon. Looked at the officers hand. Maybe the weapon fell out of his hand in the backseat and then he grabbed another weapon and shot her in the head three times or whatever was there two guns fired or one gun fire? Does anybody even know that these are things that I have not even heard in this case and it makes a lot of sense because he might’ve pulled a gun on her when she jumped from the front to the back seat, and that’s why she cut his hand because he had a gun pointed at her.
Any good trials to watch ? Im jonesing
Not sure the judge knew he was being recorded during the break
I thought he didn't show her his badge he didn't have it with him So how is she supposed to have known that he was a cop?
Hey DA, you must not have been listening OR you are trying to confuse the jury. He said he noticed the knife until AFTER he seen he was cut! 🤦ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸
Are we going through page 25? She’s not getting anywhere with him!!
Where’s the judge to stop the arguing? She’s a ……!
That expert for the defense owned the D.A.. You could see how frustrated she got. In all the cases I've watched, he is undoubtedly THE most credible witness I've ever come across!!!
I also think it’s interesting that as long as the officer perceives it’s a threat or their life is in danger, they are justified in using lethal force, however if a prostitute or wrongly identified person for example is approached by a plain clothed, no “proof†officer, and the officer moves toward them to handcuff them, they aren’t justified in trying to protect themselves?? So the prostitute is at fault because a plain clothed, regular car, no official badge, no evidence showing or proving they are indeed a PO, trapped her in a car and was going to cuff her, she shouldn’t have resisted?? She didn’t believe he was a cop!! A huge factor is also what she perceived as well! He is the highly trained individual and failed at his job.
The excessive force expert is doing a great job explaining why the police can use excessive or lethal force, however this is all explanation regarding the knowledge and belief that the cop is actually a cop. She didn’t believe that he was a cop (and rightfully so) because he was posing as a John and didn’t even have his badge on him. For someone who works in such a scary profession as prostitution, I can imagine she has been in similar situations with creepy Johns who have had bad intentions.
He didn’t have to escalate the situation. It’s prostitution for crying out loud, not an attack on the country, and he basically had her trapped in the car, he just needed to wait for backup.
" that's not what we pay them to do " so you pay them to murder people? ðŸ˜
Possibly the worst prosecution I've ever heard…this witness schooled her on so many scenarios. Losing her temper and composure, letting him elaborate on answers, when a yes or no should of been called for.I can't see her prosecuting another case for this state…she was awful
I honestly don't even believe she attacked him with a knife because there's no evidence of that at all. It was found in his seat with only his DNA on it and she yelled out the window he was trying to cut her. Why are there no cameras in these vehicles and only audio? You can't tell me they can't hide a camera in that car. ðŸ˜
The prosecutor’s cross examination of the defenses’s excessive force expert was lacking! She asks a question, he answers with a round about answer, which isn’t clear and she doesn’t bother to clarify the answer given, even if the response is a positive answer for the prosecution! Although the female defense attorney gets on my LAST nerve, at least she clarifies the answers she gets during direct examination…..however, her style and manner in which she asks questions irritates me BEYOND words!!! 😤
