3. Hi, I am from Korea and we had a very similar case here, too. A man in his late 20s posing as a college freshman in more than 20 different colleges for about 8 years. He committed identity theft and forged documents, borrowed money from his "classmates" and then vanished. It later turned out he never got into any college he aimed for. He was a disappointment to his father and experts analyzed he went on posing as a freshman to escape reality and to make up for his own failure to ever become a freshman.

Plus since he didn't go a violent crime why should he go to prison? Non violent crimes should just be fined or put into house arrest at least.
