Alex Murdaugh’s lawyers filed a motion for a new trial after allegations of jury tampering surfaced in his family murders case. The South Carolina Attorney General responded to the filing, calling it “defective” with “significant factual disputes.” The Law&Crime Network’s Angenette Levy breaks it down.

  1. If the clerk actually did what she was accused of then we all deserve a fair trial its not about is he guilty or not its about our justice system, that is the law, your right to a fair and just trial..

  2. “We were not looking to impute any nefarious conduct.”
But that’s all he did throughout the trial.

  3. Why is heaven’s name is a state senator still defending him? Isn’t he double dipping?? What about his obligation to the people who are paying him ridiculous money to do something besides his elected job?

  4. I hope he gets a re trial. I think he’s guilty as sin but that clerk more than likely really said that stuff out of emotion for the victims and that’s not what she’s supposed to do

  5. I still think AM has some dirt on JG and DH because why else would they be defending him like they are?
Whoever the third man is at the press conference he was trying to stop Harpo from dropping himself in it 😂 unsuccessfully 😂

  6. They should put this in the dictionary under the definition for ‘clutching at straws’ lol

  7. Murdaugh would truly stain the profession if he didn’t fight back. Truly don’t think he killed his wife and son – crazy.

  8. Why anyone would take anything that this defense team claims "happened" as factually happening is beyond me…
After all, this is the same defense team that hired an "expert" to say there was no way Alex could have been the shooter because the shooter had to be under 4 feet tall! Get real!
Its not as if the members of this defense team are so righteous that they are not willing to defend 1000% percent guilty people, and proceed to stand behind experts who make up rediculous theories to try to show just how "innocent" their client really is.

  9. It's quite the leap to infer that her referring to "we" means her and the jury, and even in the case that she did mean the jury that doesn't mean she actually communicated with them about it. If they are basing this on "exchanging looks" then that's another big stretch to say that means improper communications. Are we going to go back through all cases to judge the looks that clerks might or might no give juries, does then a lack of a look mean they infer innocence? C'mon now.

  10. Seems to be a battle of technicalities. I doubt someone as experienced as the clerk would make such a grievous error, it's possible of course but it's extremely hard to take the defense's claims at face value.

  11. Oh good. Someone else saw that AM’s attorneys admitted to seeing suspicious activities between the court of clerk and the jurors but said NOTHING during the trial 😑

  12. I would not trust anything that the admitted liar, Alex Murdaugh 😤 He is known to be a shyster who manipulated cases, people and was very dishonest.

  13. Evil runs in his family DNA ,of course he didn't do it ,the wife and son are not dead ,he didn't fleece his clients life's savings and he's not a drug addict .The lawyers are spineless they are a disgrace defending the indefensible.

  14. He deserves to be behind bars. If he didn’t pull the trigger he sure knows who did. He never made any attempt to find the killers. He was to busy covering his tracks.
