MISSING AND ENDANGERED: (Ep3) Former Mayor 76-Year-Old Ralph Brown Still Missing with Car

It’s now been 8-weeks and the former mayor of Cornelius, 76-year-old Ralph Brown is still missing with his care. Ralph has been missing since May 16, suffers from dementia, and has not had his memory or heart medication since he left his Cornelius, Oregon.

His daughter, Laurie Saunders, said during a news conference that she spoke with her father the night he went missing shortly after 9pm and that he wasn’t sure exactly where he was.

He told her he was “literally in the bushes,” and that he might be near a golf course, but couldn’t give her more specific details. He also asked if people were out looking for him.

She told him to wait for a call from his son, who was going to go out and find him, but Brown didn’t answer the phone after that. And nobody has been able to find him, even though hundreds of people out there helping with the search.

This series documents Adventures With Purpose’s multi-day search for Ralph.

FOUND: RICHARD RITZ

Brown is 76 years old, about 5-foot-10, with white hair and blue eyes. He’s also missing the tip of his index finger.

His car is a dark blue, 2014 Nissan Sentra with Oregon plates.

Anyone who sees him or his car is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503-629-0111

There have been a few sightings reported, but none were substantiated, said Daryle Brown, Ralph Brown’s son.

Daryle said his parents were in their home on May 16 when Brown stood up and said he was going to his “other house.”

Ralph has early-onset Alzheimer’s symptoms, which leads to confusion. He no longer has a driver’s license and has not driven a car in more than a year, Daryle said.

He drove away from the home in the 600 block of South 12th Avenue in Cornelius, Oregon.

There have been no location pings on his phone after 10:25pm that evening, and no communication from Brown in the time since he’s been missing.

There have also been no charges to his credit card.

More than 200 volunteers are still helping in the search, including former students, friends, and even strangers.

Hug the ones you love for you never know when it might be the last time you see them.

We are humbled by the opportunity all of you have given us to help in the search for answers as to what happened to Ralph.

  2. there is a dock across the lake and one closed but able to get to near North side where its deep youre at dock C there is a dock A and an old dock with a road..my old stomping grounds..

  3. I love your show you guys are great God bless you and I wish you guys would take chance to go down to Hawkins County Tennessee and find Summer Wells she went swimming and she can't be found she's been missing for one year she is 6 years old

  4. I’m an older person. When an older person says “I’m in the weeds”, (in my age group of 73+ and west coast), it means I’m befuddled, lost, feeling fuzzy headed. Just an FYI for you young whipper snappers. My daddy had Alzheimer’s, and it was awful watching a great guy, loosing it. He also would need to “go home” and get lost.

  5. there are always evil opportunists out at night, that's why you should stay home once it gets dark, look how many people go missing/murdered, don't go to bars, that is asking for trouble; every day something bad happens to someone, don't be that someone. there is nothing you need to do so badly that it can't be done during the day.

  6. One thing that still puzzles me after all this time… If he did not have a driver's license, and had not driven over a year per you documentation. Why would his family allowed him to have gotten in the car and simply drove off? As a retired paramedic, and myself taken care of a close family member with Alzheimers, I personally would not have allowed them anywhere near the driver's seat. I truly pray that he is found and brought home to his family. AWP, Jared, Doug and crew, thank you so much for all that you do each and everyday. All of you are in my prayers daily, as well as your families. Please always be as safe as possible in all of your adventures, and always watch your six. Much love n prayers, from an old and so incredibly grateful paramedic.🙏💜

  7. Just saying I think it is awesome what you and your friends do and the difference you make for these familys but why is someone with known Dementia able to drive a car for their safety and every one else that is on the road they should have no access to keys for a car. If it were my loved one I would take the keys and put them somewhere safe!

  8. Why didn’t his wife stop him? Idk doesn’t seem like the family is involved in finding him… No updates online since mid 2021..

  9. ALWAYS wear a life jacket/vest. I'd been a great swimmer, on high school swim team, summers at the family cottage etc. I thought I could do and overcome EVERYTHING, well I was VERY sadly mistaken. While living in middle Ontario, Canada I went canoeing with my boyfriend and his sister and brother in-law…. The trip was great beautiful day nice gentle flowing water until the river became blocked by a HUGE downed tree. Our canoe ended up side to side against the tree, the current was horrible along that trunk and all of a sudden the canoe flipped in a microsecond I was under the canoe fighting the eddy trying to come up for air…. No luck. Then I remember watching the WHOLE thing when all of a sudden I was back in my body and being pulled into the tree. Just typing this I'm shaking. That small, almost deadly, accident has ruined my life. I can no longer go out on a dock comfortably, though riding in a boat isn't quite as bad as it had been I still can not walk a bridge that spans ANY size of water….. PLEASE, PLEASE REMEMBER A LIFE JACKET, yes they're tacky and they don't let you tan nicely BUT THEY WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE which is a hell of a lot MORE important than ANY TAN.
Thank you Jared and crew for sucking this one out. You're truly being guided by God and don't ever stop what ALL of you are doing and the help that you have been to the families.

  10. I've never heard of calling it a donky. Being in the bushes may have nothing to do with taking a break, maybe he's stuck in some bushes. This is about Ralph Brown.

  11. Something that caught my attention was what was stated at the beginning. Thought he was at Home, he told his wife that he was going home, as if he was visiting his mother's and was going home to his wife. What would that path have been? And overlay that path starting from his home with his wife.

  12. did you ever find Mr. Brown , or get permission to search the pond that they refused to let you all in?? we pray they changes their mid and let you look, for his Familiys sake. Bless you all for what you do,

  13. "Home" can be any home he has lived in. From childhood to current, it just depends on where in that time his mind was. But then trying to get there he could get confused and lost. Dementia is a terrible disease.

  14. The problem with dementia patients they start sun downing after the sun sets and that's when they start to resort back to a young child or young adult , my mom had dementia she was always going home every night she packed to go home. Meaning as a child where she grew up she was raised in Ohio and moved to Georgia then Texas and Arkansas with my older sister when she could no longer take care of herself for yrs we had a alert necklace she wore in case. So we never new where she meant home and one day she said I will be in trouble if I don't get home to watch help the kids . So in reference I am going home it is usually a childhood home. For any future missing cases

  15. Dude out of all the videos I've watched so far with you guys this is probably the first River I've seen that's clear enough for me to see what you're doing underwater. I'm always sitting there watching you guys like waiting for you to just slam into something 🤭
