6. this is how conspiracy theories start, my first thought was he'd never leave his kids, he was probably a great friend too, his friend probably left because he was devastated and checking in with his mother shows he was a caring friend, i dont get why people always think the worst in others. 7. My sister was a diabetic and was a bus driver and wen they took her off her bus and the kids she loved it about killed her. She ended a few yrs later passing away in 2018 from a heart attack. Praying for his family…

8. I don’t think Jimmy took his own life. The fact that he was a diabetic and didn’t eat anything before he took off in his car. I feel his blood sugar dropped drastically he probably went unconscious and ended up in the water.

9. Much respect to the authorities for deferring to AWP's experience.& knowledge & for expressing their appreciation. I watched an episode earlier in Arkansas where it was quite the opposite. I guess Philadelphia is the city of brotherly love.

14. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for 19 years (15 in the ER) and when people's blood sugar get low, they genuinely behave like they are having a full blown stroke. Ask anyone who works pre hospital (EMT/MEDIC), that's the first thing you check and it's the first thing we about with stroke patients…… what is their blood sugar. Even unconsciousness. The other thing is, a candy bar or piece of candy will get you 30-45 minutes of lucidity and then your right back to where you started. That man sounded like between over sleeping, running out the door without his wallet (because he's only going 2 miles to get his girls) that he had a medical event. Common things happen commonly.

15. In 2009 my father, also a diabetic, had a low blood sugar, possibly a heart attack, and drove off the road. His car flipped and he landed upside down in a river. The water washed him up under a bridge. If someone had not happened to “see something odd” in their rear view mirror and called the cops he may not have been found for a very long time also. I have been diabetic for 33 years myself, and my heart goes out to this family.

18. I’m a Type 1 diabetic. Today while in the store my blood sugar dropped took a minute to remembered I had Glucose Tablets in my purse. So easy to get confused. I believe he easily went into water. Prayers for him & friends & family! 💕🙏

21. I think AWP are loosing the things that made them so successful. I don’t have time for this info on dietetics. Maybe people in US people have more available time to watch videos. With work, family and study in Australia I don’t have time for these longer ways of telling a story. Most people I know also don’t have this kind of available time.

22. I had a case I discovered a diabetic driver, swerving and trying to drive down the interstate. I followed his semi for over 30 miles, speaking w dispatch, while we waiting for a trooper to meet up with him. So I can see how this could happen.

23. Gonna say the same thing as others when it comes to UPS. They literally have programs where employees get cash for informing upper mgt of any transactions that go against company standards, whether its taking items or selling drugs. On top of that, any injury or issue, you're getting drug tested. And they test for the drugs you shouldn't be on and test to make sure you're taking you're appropriate prescribed meds…. esp drivers.

    I know there's always a story that someone knows someone who got by with it, but you will get caught the moment someone needs some money. Both hubs I worked at had no problems talking. And if he was loading or unloading trucks, esp at night if he wasn't used to it -> you are worn out. I mean physically exhausted after 4 to 6 hrs. I was never a driver, but loading and unloading trucks are by far the toughest jobs for short duration. Drivers work long hrs but at a more leisurely rate (please don't attack me).

26. My mom was driving on a freeway when a man with diabetes swerved into her lane and she barely avoided a head on collision still totaling her car. She was fine thankfully.

29. My Dad was a Type 1 Diabetic. I vividly remember a scary car ride when I was maybe 10 years old with my 2 younger brothers. My Dad obviously had what we called a reaction. We knew he wasn't okay, but hadn't really been told what to do in that case. This was maybe 1993. He ran red lights, drive into oncoming traffic, made u turns in the middle of major intersections, and pulled out in front of a city bus….just to recall a few things. I'm almost 40 now and I still feel sick and shaky when I recall that day. My Dad has since passed from renal failure, another body toll from diabetes.

32. I'm a diabetic with an insulin pump and had very low blood sugars where I worked up in an emergency room my sister found me on the floor. I don't know how I ended on the floor when I was in the bed I had a bump that I hit my head on the rail I probably got up don't know if I did. I'm thinking maybe when he was in a rush his pump was running out of insulin and he had low blood sugar and he could have passed out driving into the water and probably was too weak to un buckle his seat belt. Drowned. Low blood sugar can cause brain damage and you can't move or speak because your brain starts to shut down. It makes people think ING you're drunk. I think this a possibility I'm glad they found Jimmy and have some closure and like to thank those volunteer and supporters helping out on their own time keep on solving cases for the family and friends so they have their loved ones find peace.

34. Diabetics are also known if sugar dropped can get violent , or irrational or have seen one a great friend who had episode in grocery store … drop and tantrum like a child .. out of character .. etc etc Heartbreaking which he passed when he was 26 ..: 30 something years ago ..

36. As a parent of a child with Type 1 Diabetes, I wish people would specify which type and not just say Diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2 are very very very different diagnoses and require very different treatment.

37. I find it very odd that two different family members had to bring him candy is the very same location. Not common to have those sugar crisis in the same locations. My first thought was drug abuse. Then it was said that there was talk of him using and selling prescription drugs at work. I’m not personally feeling the accident scenario. The way he left everything and his health was in crisis so often,marital issues and possible dependency issues mixed with leaving all important things behind suggests intentional to me. I’m glad his family has been given some closure.

I've learned that an emergency can dump sugar into your blood to help you fight, flight or freeze, BUT as the emergency progresses all the sugar in your system gets burned up and then you have a sugar crash, which is exhausting to recover from. The sweating, shaking, cramping muscles, the fiercest headache you'll ever experience and the mental exhaustion can be physically dangerous, if you are able to stay conscious long enough to realize that your brain needs SUGAR to function. I live alone now with my cat and I am saving up for a medical tattoo on my left wrist just in case I lose my Medi-alert bracelet.

    Edit: There's so many factors to consider, your stress, your physical activity level, even the weather can be a factor.
