CASE DETAILS

Missing Since: 05/15/1994
Missing From: Royse City, Texas
Sex: Female
Race: White
Date of Birth: 06/01/1956 (66)
Age: 37 years old
Height and Weight: 5’2, 120 pounds

Associated Vehicle(s)
Pea-green four-door 1989 Volvo

Distinguishing Characteristics
Caucasian female. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Payne’s maiden name is Gagnon.

Payne was last seen leaving her home in Royse City, Texas on May 15, 1994. She was driving her pea-green four-door 1989 Volvo.

She never returned home and after a few days without contact, her family filed a missing person report with the police.

When the family searched for her on their own, they heard she had been seen at the Nook, a bar in West Tawakoni, Texas, and at a friend’s home in Hawk Cove, Texas.

A few years after Payne’s disappearance, the detective who’d been assigned to her case in 1994 happened to see her family and asked if they’d ever found her.

At this time, the family realized there was no active missing person report for Payne.

They have since filed a second report.

Payne had bought the Volvo from a neighbor and was supposed to be making payments on it, but she had stopped making the payments shortly before she went missing.

The car was still not registered in her name when she went missing.

It has never been located.

Little information is available in Payne’s case.

This documentary shares with you day 1 in searching for Roszan with the AWP crew as they meet up with Roszan’s daughters and sisters in hopes of finding her and giving the family the answers they’ve been looking for the past 28 years.

  1. Sorry to be an armchair detective, but I would be suspicious of the neighbor she bought the car from. Some people can get pretty angry if not paid for something. Also, who was she with in Hawk Cove? Did she pick up someone strange at the bar and bring him to her friends house to party? If this were a murder then her and her car could be 30-40 miles in a remote location (not necessarily water). I'd also check Oak & Cedar Cove near the other side of the bridge in E. Tawakoni. It's possible she drove over to that side (it's so close)

  2. It's gotta be hard on the family to TRY to recount the memories of the last time they saw her – many years have passed.

Oh yeah, the landscape changes A LOT in that many years.

Everyone's memories is a bit different about landscapes and family members.

Glad one family member is laughing, but Jared is just trying to help them come up with what the missing one could have been doing.

Wow, I just relieved why you kept talking about finding Carey, you were close to Roszan.

That's so sad to hear that no one is really helping the family. I love hearing how grateful they are for your services.

This case could use a magnetometer.

There is lots of water to search.

There was a possibility that you could have found Roszan while searching for Carey, but it could be that way in other cases too.

  3. Go outside the family's thinking because I know when I heard something about someone dying in around the Poconos in Pennsylvania that where the person died they were actually going to hawk mountain

  4. I was wondering if, when you search areas that are affected by tides, do you go back and do a historical tidal search for the area you are preparing to search, using the info from the last sighting – where available and appropriate. ie High tide – low tide, weather conditions at the time. ? I do realise that you can’t show all the things that you do ‘behind the scenes’ – the video would last for days 😅 but, I was just wondering if that was even relevant ?

  5. Starting watching, can't stand it when the family talks over each other. Can't understand either person. Shame on them for doing that, very uncouth and rude.
Love the show. They are fantastic.

  6. Thank your so much guys for helping this family. Like they said even if u don't find her, at least u put in some effort for them . Prayers for answers

  7. I really hope y'all find her for the family's sake. You're so good at listening and allowing them to feel heard.

Far behind that desire, as a huge fan of the 80s-era Volvos I'm definitely curious to see how it's held up underwater for all this time. ✌️🍍

  8. I thought y'all already found a Volvo in a previous search here, maybe not this specific body of water but this area 🤔 If I remember correctly it had no plates. I think it was Jacob that pulled the emblem off & that it was green. Y'all decided it was too old to pull up. 🤔 Maybe there needs to be a list made of all the cars you find since a lot of them can't be identified by a plate &/or take a bit more records digging to be certain who last owned it. We have a missing loved one go missing in the 40's on a cross country camping trip. Safety wasn't even a thought process so he never checked in anywhere to give the family an idea of where to even start looking. A list of them with any & all details you can get from them, especially those that are too far gone might be useful. You guys, Jacob, Nug, all of you amazing folks doing this & crowd source it. You can't be expected to know absolutely every single missing person report in any given area, especially if the missing person is from hundreds of miles away or an entirely different state.

  9. Just found your channel and I am just in awe of what you all do. My heart breaks for the families but my heart also gets so heavy for you both. This can't be easy and has to be emotionally draining at times. Bless you for what you do. I can't help it…I think I am hooked on this show.

  10. i need to keep asking, where is the police and what are they doing its a shame these people find litteraly every missing person but the police cant do anything just put it on their stupid page this and that person missing and they cant find shit
