AGGRESSIVE COP SHUTDOWN BY CAMERA GUY !! FORT KENT MAINE – First Amendment Audit – Amagansett Press

U.S. Constitution NOT void where prohibited by law !!
We believe that many of our rights and civil liberties as American citizens on American soil are at great risk and that a simple act of civil disobedience has the power to effect great change. While we have no interest or intention in breaking any law, we are willing to stand up for freedom and the constitution at any time and at any place and do so in a responsible and productive manner. It is our goal to create free and open discussion whenever possible in an effort to educate both ourselves and anyone with a desire to learn. A well known rule of government is that ignorance is no excuse for the law. It is our stand that we as Americans have been either uninformed or misinformed regarding our laws and rights for far too long. We are not attorneys or scholars, however we have been involved in professional photography for over 30 years and have had our rights and freedoms challenged more times than we can remember. No one group or person has the ability to effect change across the board, however we are committed to doing our part by continuing to stand up for our constitutional right to free press and the right to take photographs and video in public. All donations will be used exclusively to further this cause. We want to thank you in advance for your support of what we do and want you to know that we are committed to working harder than ever to defend our rights, your rights and the Freedom to Film in Public!!

  1. As a fellow Mainer, (downeaster) but I go to school up north in Presque isle. I wanna thank you for coming up here and standing up for our rights!! Showing the true color of the people, im not surprised one bit by the way you were treated unfortunately. Keep doing what you guys do!

  2. So he steps out of the building, drawing attention to himself, saying he doesn't want to be in any videos. sad but typical

  3. What's the purpose of our Rights, he/they ask/demand?
As an American Citizen and USMC Veteran, I'd be MORE THAN HAPPY TO EDUCATE THEM, and CURE THEM OF THEIR IGNORANCE! Sadly, there is no cure for their stupidity, and lack of having a spine. That's on them.

  4. I usually don't like your videos and your attitude towards people, but I have to admit – this is one of the best videos I've seen on 1A subject and they way you handled it, including all conversations, their feelings, HIPPA subject and privacy/public access talk – is superb, hats off!

  5. Ignorance of the peoples Constitutional Rights or the premeditated subversion of the peoples rights by police does more damage to police and public relations than any other action.
AND WHY DO POT DISTRIBUTION STORES THINK PATRONS ARE THEIR PATIENTS? THAT'S A STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION.

  6. Love the vids!!! Keep up the amazing work! Thanks for fighting the good fight and showing us towns from across the country. I've been wanting to move from. SoCali. So this has been helping me kinda think about what's out there and what cities/towns respect our God Given Rights!! Thanks a million guys! Wish I could donate but I hope this comment and my sub/views/likes help! God Bless!!!

  7. Most likely the officers will tell them, "hey they are going to remain for a few minutes and then they will leave". What would happen if you DID NOT tell them in a few minutes we are going to leave??

  8. It really sucks that the people who hate freedom seem to always control the narrative. Also it pisses me off that because you have a camera enjoying your freedom you are a sovereign citizen.

  9. I actually feel bad for that cop. He was totally unprepared for this encounter. lol… He SHOULD have been but wasn't. Not necessarily his fault.

  10. Good video, and I love seeing you guys in familiar (to me) territory. I've never met a cannabis store owner or operator who wasn't a jerk. I don't know if it's something in the product they sell or what it is, but they salivate at whatever they view as an opportunity to send someone to jail. I'm not sure what that's about but it seems to be a theme.

The first cop came off pretty aggressive, I can see. On the other side of the coin, my wife and I rented a house in Fort Kent for a year while I was working on our camp up that way. As we still had our house in Millinocket, I would drive back from time to time to check on the house, often staying overnight. One night while I was away from Fort Kent, we had a snowstorm. My wife is not the one who usually shovels the driveway, and that must have been obvious to a Fort Kent cop as he came along while she was trying to dig her car out of the snow. He stopped and shoveled her car out for her.

I don't know any of the Fort Kent cops personally, but my interactions with them have been positive. Then again, I wasn't in front of a cannabis store with a camera. Too often, I think, the police are under the impression that they are working for whoever it was who called them, particularly if they own or operate a business, and they don't seem to realize or appreciate that their job is to serve the public, who includes the person the caller is complaining about.

As they view it, their job is to make problems go away. So, when someone calls about what they perceive to be a problem, they are under impression that they are supposed to make the problem go away. If that's a guy with a camera, they're focused, not on your rights, but, in trying to persuade or coerce you to go away.

Anyhow, Maine is a beautiful state, this despite the fact that some of the people are nuts.

  11. When you "keep getting phone calls" for non emergency hurt feelings on the 911 EMERGENCY line, you enforce the abuse of 911 misdemeanor charge for the people that abused the 911 system. The calls will stop.

  12. The mythology is right there in the officer’s words he said respect the business is right a business doesn’t have a right and none of those individuals have a right that’s a privacy the only right that was exhibited there was the right to record in public

  13. There should be a banner or something across the roadway identifying clearly the demarcation line, how is a clueless person driving past supposed to make those small signs out…
Looks like they prefer to get you hem up

  14. 1. Drug dealers calling cops…?! Wtf?
    2. Potheads beeing "unwelcoming"…?! WZF??
    3. Cops still beeing unable to learn: "God day Sir, my name is xyz, some1 called about you, ..would you mind explaining?" – Yes. : Thank you
    – No…? We would feel mich much happier, if you would reconsider…if you like any information or assistamce with you activity pls let us know. Here s our card. Come later by the station, we can show you/let you film our lobby and parking lot, give you some brochures and give you a coffe and a bagel.

    -= problem solved.

  15. It is completely legal to video record in public in Canada. Yanks are misinformed. Go look up the Canadian Charter of Rights and Privilege's.

  16. Research this cop. Get a local auditor to reaseach this cop. Find out where he lives. Start recording his life at home and upload. Auditors could put a stop to bad cops. No money in that. Finding adresses of cops, DAs, mayors, whoever and record them and their family and upload. The local postmaster, same thing. Gotta teach these people a lesson. Business owner, same thing. Use the constitution to get massive legal revenge.
