San Bernardino, California — The San Bernardino police department released a detailed explanation of an incident in which officers fatally shot an armed man as he was fleeing in a parking lot. On Saturday, July 16, 2022, at approximately 8:05 p.m., two fully uniformed San Bernardino Specialized Investigations Unit Officers were conducting follow-up in an unmarked vehicle after receiving information from a citizen that a black male adult armed with a handgun was seen in the parking lot of a business located in the 400 block of West Highland Avenue.

As officers arrived, they spotted two males – one of them clearly displaying a gun in his waistband. Additionally, a number of community members were walking and in their vehicles in the parking lot, as well as residents outside in the adjacent homes. One of the males – later identified as 23-year-old Rob Marquise Adams of San Bernardino, saw the officer’s vehicle, pulled the gun from his pants, and began walking toward the officers in the car. The officers exited their vehicle and gave Adams verbal commands, but he immediately ran toward two parked vehicles with the gun in his right hand.

Officers briefly chased Adams, but seeing that he had no outlet, they believed he intended to use the vehicles as cover to shoot at them. The officer saw Adams look over his left shoulder with the gun still in his right hand. Fearing that bystanders’ or the officers’ lives were in danger, one of the officers fired his gun, striking Adams. Officers quickly rendered medical aid and Adams was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries. The second subject was taken into custody and subsequently released without incident. Adams’ gun – a black 9mm (Taurus G3C) with a round in the chamber, (and 10 rounds in the magazine), was recovered at the scene.

  1. That was so stupid I can't stop laughing haha.
Does he think they dont have access to ladders? He was either going to rob or carjack the cops until he realized they were in fact cops.

  2. One second he’s acting hard in public flaunting his strap and the next minute he’s dead. SMH

  3. How hard is it to just behave and be a good citizen. Things a good parent should teach their kids from the beginning, so they grow up to live a fruitful meaningful life….

  4. This narrative is not a true description of the whole event. Unmarked cop cars should be band. Cops shouldn't be hiding from the public anyway.

  5. Another one straight to hell! 😂😂👹😂😂… good job boys!

And that was the dying guys cousin crying… he was saying "you shot my cousin, my best friend"! Well if you were his best friend, you should have told him to stop acting a fool & put the piece away!

  6. Who knows how many lives you saved with that gun and thug off the streets. Good job officers

  7. dude tried to throw the gun but the cop shot at him smh why would the officers ride up like that knowing the people who pull up slow in the cars finna do something in they should hit there lights to let them know that they were cops in not somebody else just my opinion

  8. He thought it was his opps sneaking on him that’s why he whipped out the gun and went towards it but they was pigs on that car so he fucked up by that. Trust me thats what happened

  9. There used to be this old saying "if you can't do the time, don't do the crime"

Criminals used to have honor, now we just have fatherless mf'ers running around with straps senselessly offing people. It's sickening.

  10. I was waiting for this. I saw the news headlines and outcry they were pushing, and knew the bodycam footage would show it was bs

  11. Weird how cops are more proficient at shooting people in the back as they run away, than shooting a school shooter who is killing children right in front of them. It's like one is a real threat and frightens them to inaction while the other is just someone trying to run away. Cowards, the whole lot of them.

  12. These people just aren't that bright. They probably had no idea there was a security camera recording their every move.

  13. well look at that
*suspect 1 – brandishes a firearm and attempts to evade police *Get his shit rocked
*suspect 2 – complies with police *Is arrested and later released with out incident or injury
