San Diego, California — The San Diego Police Department released bodycam footage showing an Officer firing two rounds and Tasering a 44-year-old man suspected of committing sexual battery and then threatening officers in the Bay Terraces neighborhood. According to audio of a 911 call released by the department, at about 7:30 p.m. on July 7, the caller told a dispatcher that a neighbor was under the influence of drugs, entered the caller’s home and tried to have sex with the caller. The suspect was later identified as Maurice Littlejohn. The victim said Littlejohn was standing in the parking lot screaming, which is where he was located by the agency’s Air Borne Law Enforcement helicopter. Aerial video appears to show Littlejohn, wearing a red St. Louis Cardinals hat, a red T-shirt and holding a cane, in a dispute with a woman as he repeatedly waves the cane in the air. Bodycam footage shows two officers arriving at the complex at 7:27 p.m. when they confront Littlejohn in the lot. He is seen strolling toward them with the cane in his right hand.

An officer tells Littlejohn to “drop the cane” or he will be Tased. Once Littlejohn drops the cane, the officer orders him to turn around because he is being detained, at which point the man says “I’m not being detained” and starts jogging backward. At this point, Littlejohn can be seen pulling an object out of his pocket, which an officer says is a knife. The officer then deploys his Taser but Littlejohn is able to quickly get free, video shows. He then runs along a walkway through the apartment complex, and the two officers give chase. Officer Trevor Gallagher tells Littlejohn to “stop” and “stop reaching.” When the man turns for a split second, Officer Gallagher fires two rounds. That’s when the officer thought Littlejohn had pulled out a handgun, according to police.

The shots didn’t hit Littlejohn, who continues on foot to the main thoroughfare of Meadowbook Drive. Littlejohn keeps running. Moments later, he stops and turns around again. He raises an object in his hands, then throws it on the ground. “It’s a (expletive) cellphone,” an officer can be heard saying. Three officers were able to contact Littlejohn and take him to him to the ground, where a struggle ensues. Eventually, Littlejohn is detained. Littlejohn suffered minor injuries and was treated before being booked into San Diego Central Jail on charges of assault, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and using violence to resist arrest. Littlejohn has pleaded not guilty in San Diego Superior Court to charges including burglary, sexual battery and resisting an officer. He remains in custody on a no-bail status.

  1. Wow. How proud she sounded: "That's My Husband!" [yeah gal, keep a tighter leash on him because you're the last person on this earth that wants him.]
Too bad the dude didn't take the room temperature challenge.

  2. The welfare state and killing of the nuclear family that Democrats introduced has truly ruined the black community. When will u learn the KKK was created by Democrats and policies are still the same today?

  3. Awesome teamwork. I’m also impressed the officer didn’t keep firing after his first two shots missed and the guy was still running. Great self-control and situational awareness.

  4. For all of those who hate law enforcement, let's put them all in a walled city with no way out. No police…let them deal with crime by themselves. Let's see how that works out.

  5. Why he out bonking people with his pimp cane? Why he pull a knife on the first cop he see? Why he try to get that cop to shoot him by pulling a phone from his pocket and yelling bang bang? Why he wrestle himself covered in road rash after he got 6 cops pinning him down?

  6. well, best back stop I've seen a California cop use, but it was coincidence, and they actually weren't trigger-happy douches with no idea how to hold a gun. possibly the best cop in California?
