Trooper Stops Tourist From Dubai Driving 129 MPH

Mohammed Basiouny spends most of his time in Dubai, but on June 20, 2019 he found himself in Nye County, Nevada, heading north on US-95, clearly excited to visit Yosemite National Park at 129 MPH.

Unfortunately for Mr. Basiouny, Trooper Wilson of the Nevada Highway Patrol was out that day doing traffic enforcement, and when his radar detector displayed “129” he took off after the Mercedes C-Class rental car.

Unlike almost every other high-speed speeding ticket we have seen in Nevada, Basiouny’s citation — sixth place on the 2019 leaderboard — was not amended to a parking ticket. Basiouny simply paid the fine and moved on.

The ten fastest speeding tickets issued by Nevada Highway Patrol in 2019 were:

#1 – 155 MPH, to Aaron Snyder and his Charger
#2 – 142 MPH, to Michael Alexander and his Corvette
#3 – 134 MPH, to the off-duty cop from LA
#4 – 133 MPH, to the hairdresser on his way to Salt Lake
#5 – 132 MPH, to someone you haven’t yet met
#6 – 129 MPH, to Mohammed Basiouny, visiting from the UAE
#7 – 129 MPH, someone you haven’t yet met
#8 – 127 MPH, to Justin Cole Jance
#9 – 127 MPH, to someone you haven’t met yet
#10 – 127 MPH, see above

  1. Too bad for him he wasn't driving a Ferrari 488 Spider, he probably could have got a police escort to where ever he was heading.

  2. Dude most likely got a C class from a rental and if it is just for travelling rather than a night out, even rich people rarely need to stretch out their Cullinan SUV and would not necessarily travel in a super luxury car

  3. And that's what a traffic stop should look like. Hat off to the officer for being a professional police officer not a fucking Judge Dredd.

  4. Everyone knows Interstates and many US Highways can handle 100+ speeds. Artificially low speed limits hamper economic efficiency. Raise limits!

  5. I think the trooper was so chill because honestly, on that specific stretch of road NOBODY goes 70. It's posted 70 but in reality the average is 80 to 85 with many going 90 to 100 in the left hand lane.

  6. I think the reason for only citing for 21 MPH over is because some states require reckless driving which would be mandatory court and a headache for a tourist to resolve. But don't quote me on that since I'm not familiar with Nevada law.

  7. Ok but, can we take a minute to realize that this kid owned up paid his speeding ticket in a foreign country he might not ever visit again?

  8. you see how quick and easy that went when you cooperate with the police even when you're incredibly stupid before the stop

  9. How nice is it to go to another country and get caught for some shit most of us would be jailed, license suspended and have car impounded for? Rental or not? Good ole US treating foreigners better than their own. Yet , let me go to Dubai and do some shit… Id be feeling a cane across my back

  10. I live in Montgomery County, Virginia. I was told that there is a standing order to arrest anyone driving 35+ over or 100+mph.

  11. In italy my friends the cop wouldn’t have pulled him over in the first place Bc he isn’t done smoking his cigarette 👌 😂
