Ex-Love & Hip Hop Star ‘Benzino’ Hasn’t Paid Rent Since May; Getting Evicted

If you don’t remember Benzino, you’ve been sort-of-missing-out on one of the most off-the-wall videos we have ever posted. That (very NSFW) video can be found at https://tiny.cc/benzino.

Shifting gears to this incident, the following is directly from the police report, lightly edited for clarity: On July 13, 2020 at approximately 1241 hours, I responded to a 911 hang up call at 3450 Blair Circle. Per call notes, Lindsay [last name withheld] called for police to return to location from the previous Disorderly Person Call on 07/13/2020 at 1205 hours in reference to Raymond Scott.

[Yes, the police had already been at that location earlier in the day. Also because of Benzino.]

From speaking with Lindsay on the call earlier, Lindsay stated Scott has not paid rent since March. [Note: the police report is incorrect about this. Scott had not paid rent since May.] Lindsay advised Scott informed her he should not have to pay rent due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lindsay stated the eviction process has been started and she believes Scott is aware of the eviction process which is why Scott is angry with her.

When I arrived on scene, Scott was sitting inside the leasing office speaking to one of the leasing agents. Lindsay was inside her office. Scott was asked to step outside of the leasing office so we could have a conversation. Scott advised he was at the leasing office because Lindsay would not send via email her supervisor`s information. Scott went on to speak of how Lindsay has been disrespectful to him in the past and how did not want to be treated with disrespect. Scott advised he has been putting up with Lindsay`s negative behavior for almost two years.

I relocated to Lindsay’s office. Lindsay was visibly upset and crying. She advised she just sent Scott the information he requested via email. Lindsay stated she was on the phone with her supervisor advising the incident with Scott.

I spoke with Scott in the lobby and he advised he finally received the email from Lindsay. Scott was advised to have contact with the supervisor instead of Lindsay due to a sour relationship. Scott agreed and left the premises without incident.”

Benzino is currently listed as a defendant in an open eviction proceeding in DeKalb County Court. The plaintiff in that case is the management company of the apartment building pictured in this video.

Scott has filed a pro se answer in the case using a form with various check boxes. On that form, Raymond ‘Benzino’ Scott is alleging that (1) his landlord terminated his lease without a valid reason, (2) he offered to pay on time but his landlord refused to accept his money, AND
(3) he was unable to pay because he did not have the money.

Not sure how those last two fit together, but Benzino seems like a creative kind of guy. Sort of.

The next hearing in Benzino’s eviction case will take place on October 14, 2020.

  1. In case you missed our previous coverage of Benzino, in 2019 we broke the story and published footage of Benzino’s hourlong racist tirade against Brookhaven police officer Travis Nguyen. That full — extremely NSFW — video is at https://tiny.cc/benzino.

Edit: Someone has left a comment alleging that Benzino is not getting evicted. They are wrong. Proof: https://tiny.cc/benzinoeviction.

Correction: After reviewing body worn camera video from the earlier police response (also on 7/13/20, also because of Benzino) we have determined that the police report inaccurately represents what the leasing office had told the responding officer. Benzino has not paid his rent since May of this year, not March of this year. The video title has been updated to reflect reality, which is supported by the court paperwork linked above. Benzino is still getting evicted.

  2. In my opinion that cop was an idiot and unprofessional. Jumping to conclusions and taking sides! I am not a fan of Benzino but I think the cop was wrong here.

  3. this comment section is like 90% laughing at the clown, 5% discussions about renting property, and 5% benzene (or whatever his name is) fanboys.

  4. This bum doesn't even have insurance, he don't got no lawyer money 😂😂😂 "I got you" you don't even have yourself

  5. Lmao he really thinks he somebody. Y’all this shows you that just cause someone on tv don’t mean they living the life. Love and hip hop pays like 1500 a episode and you actually have to be in the episode lol this dudes a tool , and he getting evicted how he gonna talk to a woman like that cause he mad he can’t afford rent. Tough luck. I know he has the money to atleast get something modest like the rest of us then maybe he could get some money but people love to keep appearances. One thing I learned is that doesn’t get you anything but debt

  6. The police tried to ruin my life when I was like 19 and what’s weird was it was always the same cop and he happened to be black. I was supporting myself so I got one ticket and it went down hill from there and every time I got pulled over or has a police encounter it was the same cop. And he happened to be black. I live in a small town where there isn’t slot of people who look like me so you’d think that black officers would be more understanding but for some reason some of them really don’t like their own people it’s weird. I’m talking about from 19- 24 ( I’m 25 now and I did a 360 on my life) the only time I got pulled over was from the same black cop. Idk why he hated me so much cause I really was just a kid that got caught up cause I have no family . Anyways I got a 5$ pot charge and you’d think I’d get community service but they gave me SUPERVISED PROBATION, and from where I eas alone I couldn’t afford to pay the fees so I ended up doing the time.

Now this is where it gets wild , so I end up having to just do 45 days cause I just wanted off of probation. Nobody not even my family knew I was in there because I didn’t have anything or any money so people thought I just dropped off the face of the earth. Now what solidified my thinking of the cop harassed me for years is, literally the day after I finally got out of jail with nothing to my name but happy to be out , this cop sees me driving and he didn’t bother me but he saw me , literally the next day I was in McDonald’s with my sister and this SAME COP came in there and literally arrested me again literally not even 24hrs later. Most humiliating thing in my life , and what it was , was literally while I was inside of the jail oblivious my freaking license expired ! And Even tho I had no idea and still literally had the license in my hand which they’re supposed to take he arrested me for it in front of the busiest street in my city inside of a McDonald’s. Imagine finally getting out of a bad situation and it’s your first time eating someethimg other then freaking molded bread and snack cakes and the same cop whose bothered you for years arrest you in front of a packed out McDonald’s. And of course no one knew why I was being arrested. Just humiliating, but it was always the one black cop. Have y’all noticed that? In a lot of areas black cops are really hard on us I don’t understand. But safe to say I moved the hell away from there.
