Does YouTube REALLY Encourage Free Speech? – Everything Law and Order Blog

I address YouTube removing my recent video on a “Cop Written Up for Mis-Gendering Driver” classifying it as “hate speech”. I discuss whether it was merited.

You can watch original here:

Did I really encourage hatred or violence toward those who identify as transgender, non gender, or a helicopter?

  1. Equal limits on Earth. not nessaraly in outter space. Criminals going eons into the deep outter galaxies; is a pleasure to think. Corrections is for loving all people, and thinking of where no man or woman criminal has gone before. If they don't learn and correct then they don't come back to better adapt on Earth.

  2. I like the "against a protected group" part. Wait so not everyone deserves protection according to YouTube? And protected group makes these unnamed groups sound like endangered species lmao. Protected group… wtf is that

  3. Youtube Facebook and Twitter censor everything that will offend the snowflakes, but they allow hate speach, when it comes from these snowflakes.

With them free speech is a one way street.

  4. Mike the cop who is not a cop. thanks for your videos. the way you said "dont speed and you wont get a ticket" in that sample video hilarious. Also saying you are pulling over naked mole rats is discriminatory due to them being the 2nd slowest things on the road. those allegations are spiecist against a whole den! ZOMG did you just PEW PEW the Murica eagle? unfortunately couldnt see the video in 2020. is youtube for free speech? is the news the news? are politics as divisive as ever? Its all just business baby! Platforms makin the money greasing that machine. you got a good attitude.
take care. thank you for your time. i wish you and yours the best.

  5. Must have had been the term MOLE RAT… Maybe someone out there believes that's what they are. And I guess Feelings are protected after all Trump did pass the Noahide Laws for discrimination I guess or something along those lines. The world has gone Soft. People are getting STUPID these days… If Christ doesn't return soon, this world is going to get more chaotic and Anarchy will take place because people are doing all they can to eradicate laws it seems like until the United States is a Lawless country just like other countries seem to be… It's just the way the world is working against itself. Society is extremely STUPID with Prejudice…

  6. I do know where they may have issue with your video and I kinda agree while I agree with you in general. Basically you where saying a person to identify as whatever but than said that they can't impose it on others. Now in private you are right, but the police officer was acting a state entity so as an officer he has to accept the person choice. So the way you said it implies that the officer doesn't have to accept the person choice and therefore encourage hatred.

  7. Well Mike, I went to see your video on the TV channel you mentioned, an low an behold it is no longer available. Starting to wonder if the fine folks of u tube have been taken over from the worthless spit, called facebook!

  8. Judging from the number thumbs down I’m guessing some of those ‘tolerant’ folks took offense to your…. dislike of turds. Lol!

  9. I am SOOOO tired of liberals and Social Justice Warriors getting jumped on. Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a SJW. Desmond Doss was a SJW. Benjamin Franklin was a SJW. I'm a SJW. Our local "Five Cap" which is an agency trying to help people learn to move out of poverty refused to provide a friend of mine with another load of firewood in winter. My friend "Sue" only has a wood burner for heat. Her partner is badly physically disabled and its DANGEROUS for him to move out of the house in winter. Never mind. The agency decided for the first time that they needed his signature on the application as well, in their presence. Although they have a staff of more than 10 people and Sue's house was only about 1 1/2 miles away they wouldn't send a staff member to Sue's house. My friend was 4 days from running out of firewood. Oh, they also have a young son. Salvation Army finally came to the rescue, ignoring their own rules to SOLVE the problem. I wrote local newspaper, went to the 5 Cap agency and talked to the Director, then attended their Board meeting, then renewed my notary license and have spread notices around that I will make house calls for $1 if people need papers notarized and they are homebound. (The $1 is just to eliminate frivolous calls. It's amazing how money, any amount of money, makes actions serious. Learned that from a car dealership who required $10 down when papers were signed.) I do other SJW stuff. Sneer all you like. SJWs created the United States of America.

  10. Hey Mike just watched this video…im not triggered or offended btw….but heres the issue: by you being a police officer you not only advocate violence but practice it regularly….you justify it by claiming its only against "bad guys". Which is fine if its against someone committing a violent felony imo….however you define a "bad guy" as anyone breaking the law. The issue is that there's so many laws on the books its impossible for any citizen not to break them. It is literally impossible for a citizen to drive a half block without violating some law or traffic code. That makes every citizen a "bad guy" by your own definition (even yourself). "In this day and age" in American policing every law or code is backed by the death penalty. If a cop wants to arrest someone for the heinous crime of jaywalking, and the "bad guy" doesn't want to be put in a cage and robbed the the justice system and resists hard enough they will be killed. And the cop will be jusified legally doing so, even though this is morally repulsive imo. My point is that a cop will always advocate for violence and hate because they are impowered to do so legally, even though in many cases it is morally and ethically wrong. Thoughts?

  11. Youtube does not promote free speech at all. Being a Google company they promote the left over the center and the right. In fact, they are more willing to allow content flags to stand against groups in the central or right political spectrum even if those videos are completely compliant with TOS and DMCA. Also, I find JPSears hilarious.

  12. Youtube doesn't even pretend to be unbiased. I'd love to see my favorite channels ditch them for good perhaps in favor of FULL30 or some such.

  13. Ever since GOOGLE has taken over YOUTUBE, everything has gone BONKERS!!! UP is DOWN! LEFT is RIGHT! RIGHT is WRONG! RED is BLUE! It's all so stupid. I've been taken down for singing MY OWN ORIGINAL SONGS which have been claimed by others. I know that's not a free speech thing, but it makes no sense and it what they have been doing recently. It's insane!

  14. "We believe in free speech, but………….." Very Orwellian and almost comical in the extreme. According to YouTube: "Some speech is freer than others." Surely, having protected groups is discriminatory and promotes inequality?

  15. hate speech is subjective because what some people consider a hate speech i would just sit there like "but he's just expressing his opinion doesnt mean anyone has to agree"
also you have a different opinion! humans are a hive mind now

  16. Well, considering it was our tax dollars helped subsidize the backbone of the Internet in this country. Why does Google get to make so much money of off that infrastructure? How much of that infrastructure do they pay for? Google should have to pay for that infrastructure, in the same way trucking company have to pay to use the roads in this country.

  17. Screw hate speach, it doesn't exist. People choose what to be offended by and people get offended by literally EVERYTHING. Either we have free speach or we don't.

  18. I would respect YouTube's use of the definition of hate speech if they actually applied it when talking down videos. Most videos taken down do not condone or call for violence or hate against a "protected" group. What then? It clearly follows that it's just an excuse to censor things YouTube disagrees with. If it was otherwise, they would actually use the definition they provide to decide whether a video should be taken down. Instead, they either disregard the definition during the decision and then use it as the excuse thereafter, or they keep the definition nebulous to cover the bases of what they might find politically incorrect. There's no secret that there is some political bias. Now, that bias wouldn't be as much of an issue for me if they were simply honest about it. "We support the right to express your views, even those that may be unpopular, but let's demonetize/remove unpopular opinions because they offend people." In other words, We defend your right to say unpopular things, but not if what you say is 'viewed or received unfavorably by the public' (definition of unpopular courtesy of Merriam-Webster). So we're really looking at censorship mixed with doublethink. Protecting feelings is useless, because it's impossible. There will always be people who are offended by content. Only remove things that openly call for violence. Again, a racial slur, while idiotic, is not a call to violence. Gathering a rally and telling people to beat other people up is a call to violence. Threats may also cross boundaries, but I don't think they said anything when Madonna mentioned thinking to blow up the White House on Trump's inauguration day. But people can do these things because it's on a certain political angle. They remove content that's not politically correct while claiming to be politically neutral.

    Their logic doesn't hold up.
