The Tulsa Police Department has released video of a deadly officer-involved shooting that occurred last month. Police shot and killed William Frost Jr. Oct. 21 at the intersection of Admiral and South Utica Avenue. Officers said Frost, a veteran, was holding a knife and was shot after he refused to follow commands. Police said he was tased more than once before he was shot. “We had to do our job, and unfortunately in this instance, our job was to take fatal action,” Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker said in October. “But we tried many things before we came to that point.” The department identified the two officers involved in the shooting as 34-year-old Jim Brill and 29-year-old Lance Bond. Brill and Bond have been with the department for five years and four years, respectively.

  1. So, the guy who was struggling to walk who was holding a knife was a danger while he was 10 yards away in the middle of the street. Good job, boys. Another one bites the 9mm.

  2. Ive said this once before and ill say it one more time. All of you guys asking “why didnt they taze him” “they didnt need to shoot and kill him, they could have done something different”, no no they fucking couldnt. When a suspect is armed they are a huge threat, especially to cops who are trying to defuse the situation. If suspect is told several times to drop their weapon and they dont comply and try to hurt the cop, they have forfeited their right to live. All of you guys need to realize that when something like this happens, a cop only has a split second decision on what they need to do at that moment. These cops did the right thing by killing him. They made sure he would try to hurt anyone else. You can NEVER try to take the life of a cop, or you WILL pay the ultimate price, which is death. No he didnt need to be shot, but a lot of you would have done the same in such situation. These are not power hungry or trigger happy cops. They are people who are doing their job. They arent murdering the person, he lost his right to live. A lot of cops would rather have the issue turn out different, but sadly that isnt always possible.

  3. Seems like a bad decision to shoot when there were pedestrians in all directions beyond the suspect. Could have been bad if any bullets missed the target.

  4. ALMOST NEVER A REASON TO KILL SOMEONE ARMED WITH A KNIFE. MACE OR TASER WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SOLUTION HERE> UNLESS HE CHARGED SOMEONE< THEY MAY NEED TO SHOOT> THIS WAS MURDER HE WAS BACKING AWAY!

  5. Would you shoot your neighbor if he had a knife and was 10 feet away? This disturbed man did not have to die. He needed to be helped not murdered.

  6. I feel bad from the cop who had to basically kill someone he has to live with that but life or death

  7. i live literally right behind this scene and was there for the altercation, homeboy was deaf, mentally ill and always drunk (local homeless guy, crossed paths with him a few times). the police pulled up and tried to get the man to drop the knife but instead he decided to continue acting crazy in the middle of traffic. so the cops tazed him after he didnt comply and he tore the tazer prongs out from his chest. they taze him a second time and he did the same, after that last taze homie lunged towards the officer and tried to hurl his knife at him, and thats when the cops layed him out. its sad and it sucks but he was given a chance to comply and he didnt so the police only responded to his actions justly. AND FOR ALL THE HEARTLESS PIECES OF SHIT SAYING THATS THERES ONE LESS LOSER ON THE STREET, GO FUCK URSELF. THATS TOTALLY IGNORANT AND SELFISH, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HOMELESS GO THROUGH OR WHAT THAT MAN WAS GOING THROUGH, HAVE A DAMN HEART AND SHOW SOME EMPATHY.

  8. Tax payers can pay these pigs as much as they want, but don't pay them enough so they can have tasers, take those tasers away so they can have a reason to shoot a man armed with a knife with lethal force and not waste the judges time!

  9. For anyone who disagrees with the cops decisions to shoot the man, just know that he made the conscious decision to continue after being told several times to drop the knife. He, and the cops both knew that dropping the knife would've saved the mans life, and he made the decision not to follow the police orders. Its obvious that the police weren't looking for a reason to kill this man, they were just doing their jobs.
