Police are warning Pokemon Go players to be vigilant after a crash related to the game was caught on Baltimore police officer’s body camera. It happened around in the pre-dawn hours of Monday, around 3:30 a.m. Some officers who had just finished a call for service were on the sidewalk in the 2900 block of Eastern Avenue when a Toyota RAV4 hit one of their patrol cars. “That’s what I get for playing this dumb a** game,” the driver can be heard telling the officer, who ran to the scene after witnessing the collision.

“It’s a game, but it’s not a game when you’re behind the wheel,” Baltimore Police spokesman T.J. Smith said at a news conference Tuesday. “This could have easily, easily been a tragedy.” Smith also warned people to be careful about letting the game make them a target for criminals, after game-related thefts in College Park and Baltimore County.

  1. distracted driving and careless driving. i hope he goes to jail for that because it could've gone really bad and someone might get killed.

  2. Idiot. He's lucky no one got hurt. Also find it funny that out of all the cars he hit. It was the patrol car. Instant justice, bet he got a nice whopping ticket and had to pay the city for the damage to the patrol car.

  3. I don't see anything wrong with using your phone while driving if your great at driving and paying attention, but playing things like Minecraft, geometry dash, checkers, or this Ingress ripoff is just stupid.

  4. Glad it was just a couple of cars that got hit, you know that guy ain't touching his phone behind the wheel anymore. At least I sure hope he ain't.
