POLICE EQUIPMENT AUTHORIZED WITH NO TRAINING – Everything Law and Order Blog

I went into LAPD Harbor division to obtain the specs on the equipment they use- specifically the ‘lighting’ devices….low and behold I am told anything other then the common standard (larger) police flashlight, is ‘personal lights, bought by those individual officers…BUT THEY STILL NEED TO BE AUTHORIZED to use in the field while working as a police officer. So in conclusion I appreciated Lt Richards calm attitude towards me, he wasn’t arguing with me, but it became clear he doesnt know the details of extra (authorized) equipment, which is fine- just point in the direction to the person that does know….I’m putting together my ‘evidence’ of the strobe lights being used on me, and will be back to harbor division asap. STAY TUNED

  1. Strobe lights are made to disorientate and/or temporarily blind your opponent. This officer is playing stupid or just likes to dance around real issues. If we shined one of these lights at a police officer it would be considered obstruction. Any tactical flashlight on the market flashes off and on for the purpose of distraction.

  2. I would say, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, if they feel at risk, then so should you, counter it for your own safety .. it’s hypocrisy otherwise.

  3. A strobe light is a weapon and a defensive tool.
Against a photographer it’s used in contempt, as to blind, disorientate and irritate.
Strobe lights have also caused some citizens to have epileptic seizures.
It is a weapon, so any officer using them against a law abiding citizen is committing an assault.
They can only be used in situations that rise to an emergency or physical threats.

  4. So LAPD can carry whatever equipment they want, and their supervisor just signs off on anything they wish to carry? The Justice Dept. need to get involved with this – that is not something any non-corrupt PD would ever endorse. We need to know what equipment officers are using. Any supervisor that signed off on any equipment without researching it, or has allowed any officer to use non-approved equipment needs to be immediately fired. This pig is nearly continuously violating his oath, and need to be fired, and removed from public service for life.

  5. Most retarded question ever. LAPD are mostly issued the pelican 7060 which has the strobe function meant to disorient an attacker (you)

  6. Retarded video do u really think they would have the specs of the lights. I enjoy your videos but lately they have been poop.

  7. Flashlights arent strobe lights they are LED there is no limmit on the lumins the brighter the better the flash mode he is referring to its used to get the attention of other officers without talking , or to mark your location with an air unit it can be used to distract the attention of criminals. Contrary to beliefs LEDs will not burn retinas of anyone i have 1 i carry!

  8. Do an open records request under California Public Records Act to find out about the equipment they are issued and any outside equipment that has been approved. He was playing dumb and running you in circles…useless assholes. Get em Laurashark!

  9. most of the "workman" type flashlights you can buy off the shelf these days have the strobe function built in. I figured it was about safety when you had to change a tire on a dark road. If you see a car coming and need help the strobe will draw attention to you. Buuuut…..as usual these pigs have found use for it all their own.

  10. This must be a class they teach. Advanced Instruction In How to be the most vague and the least helpful 301. Lieutenant doesn't know how to help well how bout you call any number of officers and ask them do you have a flashlight with strobe effect if yes ask what's the brand and model. Try and be a citizen along with the rest of us and maybe then you will stop earning the hate. I hope to see another follow up video about this Laura as always stay safe and vigilant.

  11. I'm glad you're addressing this. They know they're harmful and they're using them as an unauthorized weapon, in addition to blinding your camera and stifling your right to document their actions. Once again, when confronted, they lie and pretend it's all too confusing.

  12. Laura, i have several police flashlights and they both have a flashing strobe feature, the true use of this strobe feature is to disorient the person…PERIOD!! most of the Officers in my town carry these, and i use to sell tactical equipment at Gun and Knife shows, so trust me when i say, these strobe features are well known by the police that carry these newer tactical flashlights!

  13. Couldn't help but notice the "Missing & Exploited" sticker in the frame. They KIDNAP & EXPLOIT the truth everyday on innocent people daily. Not sure if its an advertisement of their kidnapping "services" to keep us "safe" or a WARNING of what happens when you walk into a police station. Where's the sticker that reads:
"Whenever you need assistance call 1-800-COWARD and an officer will assist you"

  14. Wow they are pretty good at talking around shit aren't they. Sounds like they are answering questions but really aren't saying shit. I hate that!

  15. wow!! well that straightens things out for me "no officers are using their flashlight for that purpose" next i'll learn they're blinding us for our safety?? this cop is typical ie.. low iq but i found him to be a rather poor lier. Granted the competition is ferocious. but HIS lies lacked any real imagination or creativity. how dumb do they think the public really are. this dude should quit and try and find something he's good at cause he has no credibility, or integrity. lacks the skills required to click a mouse(every video on every channel nearly disproves his idiocy about flashlight "blindings" and film interruptions) and if he lies so poorly in person his lying on police reports can be anything spectacular. people skillz??? none… with proper training i believe we could be looking at a "pioneer" in the human door stop industry

  16. Truly amazing work. So he actually says we use equipment we're not trained to use on the public and I can't tell you anything specifically about said equipment. Wonderful. One of the many reasons you do what you do and thank you so much for doing it. Gorgeous inside and out.🙏

  17. Be assertive and direct with your questioning, I feel, now please don’t take this the wrong way but don’t pussyfoot around the question like your name sake go in for the kill, your interaction with the watch commander was, womp, womp. Go in with a prepared list of questions1) What was the name of the LEO who was riding in car# of the night in question 2) wtf why in the fuck was he shining a strobe light at your eyes, for all he doesn’t know you might be prone to photosensitive seizures, 3) once getting that pigs name write a complaint form.

We realize that it’s easier to armchair the whole situation from the safety of our homes and hindsight is 20/20 but when a person starts knowing dumb that means they are lying to you, tear him up with your questions easy direct yes or no questions give those pigs no wiggle room for indirect answers. Like a 🦈 shark that smells blood in the water go in for the kill. Give them no quarter.

Please take everything I said like constructive criticism you, Tom and others are doing a good job.

  18. Good gal, Laura Shark. Bring in the evidence. Not that these guys will know what to DO with said evidence, and not that this lieutenant will be on duty, to talk with you, again (maybe call in and make an appointment with this specific guy, before you go back down there..) so he can then tell you that what they are using, against you, is not what you think it is.
I think we have ALL seen them use these lights, against photographers, so it's not like this guy should not know about it. I think he's toying with you, like his cops, messing with you and others. Jerks. They have to stick together, don't they? Thin blue line, hey?
