New video has been released of a fatal officer-involved shooting in Seattle’s Bryant neighborhood early Monday morning. The video show officers catch the suspect of a car prowl then repeatedly yelled warnings at the suspect to “stop reaching” but he continues to rummage in the back seat. Finally, several shots are fired. Police also released a photo of a gun recovered at the scene. According to Detective Mark Jamieson with the Seattle Police Department, the encounter started when officers were called to the 6000 block of 34th Avenue NE around 4:20 a.m. Monday for the report of someone breaking into vehicles. When officers arrived, the suspect fled from inside the vehicle and police gave chase.

During the pursuit, the suspect fired a shot at officers and one officer returned fire, but Detective Jamieson says officials do not believe the suspect was struck and no officers were injured. As more officers arrived, neighbors started calling police about possible suspect sightings. Detective Jamieson says one of those calls was about a man breaking into a home and stealing a vehicle at gunpoint on the 6000 block of 27th NE. The suspect was in the stolen vehicle when he crashed near Northeast 55th Street and 26th Avenue Northeast. The suspect was shot and killed as officers attempted to apprehend the man after the crash, according to Detective Jamieson. No officers were injured.

  1. Wish cops could use a new tactic that when they see someone reaching and cant open the door they can use their guns in a safe manner to breach in for example if they feel like they need to shoot in an angle towards the window to avoid injuring anyone but before yell breach! breach! Just like they do when theyre about to use taser but just one bullet to make a hole and use the guns barrel or a flashlight to knock down the rest of whats left of the window and clear it to open it that will def scare the bad guy and get them in but they have to be very careful about it and only one can do it but ik they wont use that because it will be controversial

  2. He wasn't looking for an extra jumper because it was cold out – justified shooting and given way too much time to comply.

  3. Blurred license plate makes about as much sense as the guy on Craigslist putting his finger in front of the lens to block his.

  4. he was reaching for his doctor degree from bible college of jesus to show the cops that he's a good boy.

  5. I wanna know what the fuck goes through these retards heads when they’re frantically searching for a gun to shoot at the police, you have crashed your car and you’re surrounded by like 10 cops, you think you’re gonna win?

  6. I love how he locked his car as he was running from the cops. "Gotta be careful. There are criminals about."
