16. It's kinda a minor thing on the grand scheme of things, but cops running red lights was a major catalyst in how I became critical of police. I have a cop buddy who I honestly trust to tell me the truth in most matters (poster boy for great person being only a mediocre cop because the system is screwed up as confirmed when he showed up in the background of another audit, but that's another tale). I told him about these cops I kept seeing run red lights downtown by my apartment at night, like blatantly turning on the lights for just the two seconds they were in the intersection multiple times, and he insisted they must have been on a call. I couldn't get him to admit that maybe, just maybe, they were just jerks abusing their position, even though it was super obvious and he wasn't there. He tried to hit me with that "civilians don't know what it's like" crap as if that was relevant. Anyways, that made me realize how much police buy their own propaganda and how illogical they are when analyzing each other.

24. I had an officer with the Irvine PD in Irvine KY run a red light, pulling out in front of me. It was everything I could do to avoid hitting him, and still only by inches. No lights, no sirens, and later I found out that he didn't even have a call from dispatch. After flagging him down to warn him of the danger of his behavior, with what we called in the military an on the spot correction, he told me "DONT TELL ME HOW TO DO MY F***ING JOB", and proceeded to move his cruiser around behind my car, flip his lights on, and attempt to conduct a traffic stop on me. If I didn't immediately call his then seargent, a friend of mine, I can only imagine how that incident would have played out. That officer is now our chief of police.

28. I generally like police officers but if they do something so brazen like run a red light when in a non emergency then it sets a tone to continue doing whatever they like. Good job calling him out.

33. I didn't watch closely enough, but it looked on first glance he had already entered the intersection while the light wasn't red. It's important to remember that, if stopped by police for running a red light, that it's not illegal to drive under a red light. It's illegal to enter an intersection while a light is red.

44. Do their cars have "EXEMPT" plates? Because if they have an "exempt" plate they are exempt from the law. At least they think so little of us and think we're dumb enough to believe that BS that that's what they'll tell us.
