Aggravated Assault on LEO / Trafficking Illegal Drugs.
Alpharetta, Georgia — In the early evening on April 5th, one of our officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle he observed driving recklessly on Old Milton Pkwy. During the discussion with the driver, 24-year-old Dennis Aguirre of Alpharetta, our officer suspected there were illegal drugs in the car and that the driver may be impaired.
Due to Mr. Aguirre’s responses and behavior, he was ordered to get of his car and was in the process of being detained when he struggled with our officer, got back into his car, and attempted to drive off with the officer holding onto him. The officer was dragged several feet before he was able to turn the car off. Our officer’s arm was pinned inside of the car by the suspect, which is why he wasn’t able to let go and disengage from the suspect. Once stopped, Mr. Aguirre continued to fight with and attempt to run with our officer until he was tackled to the ground and taken into custody.
Both our officer and Mr. Aguirre had minor cuts and scratches from the incident. Mr. Aguirre was taken to North Fulton Regional Hospital for medical clearance before being put in jail for several charges including, Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Trafficking Illegal Narcotics, Possession of Illegal Narcotics with Intent to Distribute, DUI, Reckless Driving, and other traffic charges.
Our officer was checked out by EMS and has returned to duty.

That's the bad thing about fucking with the police… they have back-up coming; you don't.
Assaulting a police officer, a peace officer, a corrections office, and/or an emergency official is illegal and that person behind the non-cop vehicle should not have attacked the man. He deserves a punishment.
Well done-I hope the offender gets to watch this sober-and see how close he came to being LEGALLY becoming a stain on that street.
Sad that he got probation for all this. Being white has its benefits!

Just a suggestion ; might it be prudent to get patrol cars to operate in tandem. When a traffic stop is required, 1 vehicle in front and 1 behind! Stops the perp right from the get go
