I remember when this happened and the whole nation was up in arms and protesting and memorializing the girl like a victim just like that 16 year old girl the other day who attempted to murder 2 young girls . . . Oh wait . . . No. That never happened because she was white and no one gave a shit.

44. I think there is enough evidence now to indicate that antidepressants aren't the answer, at least when it comes to children and young adults. I think counseling is a better course of action. We don't even have a good understanding of how exactly these pharmaceuticals work in the brain, and yet they are prescribed. This young girl was obviously reacting irrationally. Perhaps she was suicidal and wanted the cop to shoot her. While it can't be determined if antidepressants were the cause of mass shootings, we know that the mass shooters were taking antidepressants or other psychoactive pharmaceuticals in almost every case. I agree with other comments; we need an overhaul of the mental health system in this country. In this case, while it's sad the 17-year-old was shot and killed, it was not the cop's fault. …and because she was white, no riots or looting occurred.
