It is not proper procedure for a NYPD officer to place his hand on his weapon on a regular routine traffic stop unless they are conducting a felony car stop in which in this case they weren’t…. when asked why he had his hand on his gun, he responded by saying that he could do that, which indicates that he is a very dangerous officer and needs to have a psychological exam done to determine whether or not he should have his weapon…. as you see in the video that the motorist was calm and respectful, he was totally submissive to the officers, there was no reason why this officer would have his hand placed on his gun during the whole duration of the car stop, officers are trained to conduct a security assessment of a situation and in this situation it did not call for the officer to place his hand on his weapon ….so CPU has determined that this officer is very dangerous to the community and should be immediately removed from his post and for that matter, remove him from the whole department. #nypd
