Torrance Brush Fire Comes Close to Homes

July 21, 2019 – Torrance, California : At around noon a small brush fire broke out at the corner of Via Valmonte and Hawthorne Blvd. Torrance city fire department responded and knocked down the fire in about 20 minutes.

  1. you missed the san Pedro and the helicopter drop – good video though – some of the canyons by PV seem to be fire traps.

  2. Everyone loves the fire department! You have to be good looking to be part of the team! Unlike the polixe department, they take any ugly mug!

  3. To the firefighters who go out and put out fires that are mostly caused by people who don't keep the area clean or dry grass and weeds. Only you can prevent Fires 🐻

  4. Weed abatement would have been a good thing too, I was told that we don't have the budget in San Diego for the program to continue. Looked like a priority area for the program.

  5. Any ideas as to how it started? I heard on the scanner they called TPD to come as there was a homeless encampment there…

  6. Not only did the Torrance Fire Department do a great job putting out the fire but as the video shows they honored my press rights to cover this incident.
