Hollister, California — Hollister Police Officers responded to a 911 call for a disturbance at a home on Kimberly Court. Officers located a man that allegedly threatened family members, was armed with a knife and refused to cooperate or to put the knife down. One officer discharged his firearm and wounded the suspect. The suspect was transported to a trauma hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Brandon Hill.

At approximately 7:30 am, SCR911 received a 911 hang-up call from a home located on the 1100 block of Kimberly Court. When dispatchers attempted to call back they received a request for help advising an adult family member was possibly violent and had access to kitchen knives. Two officers arrived on scene and contacted the family members. As they were talking with family members, the suspect approached the officers and refused to remove his hands from his pockets.

When officers attempted to speak with the man inside the house, the suspect was uncooperative and eventually produced a large knife. He proceeded to start a fire by turning on the stove and placing items on the ignited burner. He stood between the fire and the officers and began to throw several items at the officers; including one item that was on fire. The suspect continued to throw furniture and other items around the room and threatened both officers.

Attempts to deescalate were unsuccessful. At one point an officer discharged one round from his service weapon. The round struck the suspect in the abdomen at which time the suspect dropped the knife. Officers immediately secured the suspect and rendered first aid until medics arrived on scene. The suspect was transported to a trauma hospital.

The suspect was medically cleared and released from an area hospital in the evening of December 16, 2020. Officers from the Hollister Police Department took custody of the suspect, identified as Brandon Hill (29). Hill was transported to the San Benito County Jail where he was booked for several charges including: arson, assault with a deadly weapon, threatening an officer, resisting arrest and criminal threats. His bail is set at $196,000 according to jail staff.

  1. Imagine dealing with this sh*t every day…. Pheew🤯It must fry your brain… Those police have a hard everyday job to go to

  2. Personally, it seems like the best option was to get the mom out of the house and have everyone withdraw until he could be calmed down.

  3. Reminds me of an episode of Gunsmoke where Marshal Matt Dillon caught a guy who was wanted for murder and he told the guy “I’m not gunna kill you I’m gunna gut shot you and watch you squirm for 3 days” 😂. Gut shots are rarely fatal but are supposed to hurt really bad some days it’s like having fire in your belly which makes sense lol.

  4. If that was a black person, there would have been riots all over the country. CNN HEADLINES: “black man making dinner for his family shot by two WHITE cops in his kitchen”. He was cooking, of course he had a knife in his hands.

  5. Cops have no business dealing with mental case. All they know how to handle it is with violence. Cops in this country are poorly trained and they are trained to shoot first and ask questions after. If you have someone you care for and love and they have mental situation, please don’t call the cops, they will most likely get killed.

  6. These are the guys that should of been raised inside padded walls but liberal agenda wants crazy insane psychotic people amongst us

  7. You know I’m just laying in bed watching this and constantly thinking: “umm fire….There’s a fire!….How about that fire behind you? FUCKING TASE HIM ALREADY!!!!!…..FIRE!…..Hellloooo?!!!” 😂

  8. thats a survivable wound homie your lucky.. sorry that had to happen im sure the officer didnt want to do that … my logic he could have easily aimed to the head with all the time he had. not to mention how close they were made that a crazy situation plus add fire at the officers feet…

  9. People want them to have mental health people out here but they don’t want to put their life in danger and they won’t go without police.

  10. Here's what I see. They had all that time to use a tazer SAFELY from a DISTANCE and pepper spray to see if they could disarm him without killing him. He didn't have a gun. BUT they chose Deadly Force as their first option. I find American Police find killing all to easy compared to actually doing your job and still not have to kill anyone. Its like you all are cowards to actually think past using a trigger finger. This was a shooting I think could have been avoided with police with some balls and valued human life.

  11. Okay i laughed out loud when he said “shoot me man!” Immediately got shot and switched up to “UGH!!” Real quick

  12. It was nice of you to list in the description the date and time when he was cleared from the hospital but you never listed the date of the actual call. Nice police work! Always on the ball…

  13. I got lest lethal grab your gun pop! Should have Tased him right at the first !! There seems to be a problem with mental illness training with all cops!
