The Los Angeles Police Department released body cameras, pictures and details of an officer involved in a fatal shooting that occurred on March 29, 2021 around 3:49â€‹ a.m.,
LAPD Rampart Patrol Division officers saw a suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Matthew Blaylock, walking in an alleyway.

As the officers approached Blaylock, one of the officers became aware that he was armed with a handgun.

The officers gave the suspect commands, but the suspect refused to comply and fled on foot.

The officers gave chase and caught up with the suspect near the intersection of 8th Street and Bixel Street, near the 110 Freeway on-ramp. Despite commands to stop, the suspect armed himself with a pistol, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting.

Blaylock was struck by gunfire. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and transported Blaylock to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

A pistol was recovered at scene and booked as evidence. No other officers or bystanders were injured during this incident.

The officers involved in the below incident have been identified as Rampart Patrol Division Police Officer II Giovanny Ramirez Barona, Serial No. 42485, and Police Officer II David Voci, Serial No. 43117.

Westlake: Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) that occurred in Rampart Division.

Being the gun a "ghost" gun is just playing into liberal gun-control SENSATIONALISM. It makes no difference if this was a ghost gun or not. Criminals use non-ghost guns all the time. And serial numbers and background checks would not have prevented none of their crimes. Also, the "hi-cap" magazine narrative is a muted point. Since the gun grabbers are the ones defining 'HIGH CAPACITY". The officers get an "A+" on this JUSTIFIED shooting. The police narrative and narrator gets an "F-" for their "ghost gun" and hi-cap magazine gun-control agenda.

I wish there was more background on this one. Why was he a suspect to begin with, for instance? I mean, some people have weird schedules and would be doing things at 3am. I also would be armed if I had to go somewhere on foot at 3am. Does this state have laws that carrying a gun is enough to constitute a stop by the police? Or was this man known and wanted? Looks like a good shooting, but I'm concerned with the ending.

1. How did that gun end up on the curb? I have watched this several times and see no evidence of the perp throwing it or it flying out of his hand.

2. One of the first things officers usually do is secure a perps weapon. Why did they wait until all the backup left to do that? If that gun was always there after perp gets shot, every single officer would have had to see it when they got their to cuff him.

3. The body cam footage isn't continueous footage and it is only recovered until nearly everyone is gone. The seargent say "you found that little guy". That's a rather strange choice of words and more bizarre than that is his statement "it's still loaded with the magazine in it". If that's his first time seeing it, how does he know it's loaded?

4. The search for the weapon is odd too. Why is there only one guy searching in the exact spot the perp is killed? Common sense would dictate that if it isn't where (you thought) it was after the shooting, you would shitting bricks and have more officers looking for it would you not?
